Just outside of Gatlinburg Tennessee is one of the National Parks hidden gems that not everyone knows about. This is a tour of this wonderful motor trail that I think rivals its sister Cades Cove.

Take a car trip through the Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This journey is through Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, an area given this name for the roaring sound of the nearby waterways. Throughout this journey, there will be stops at historical homes and other locations that make this little journey worthwhile. This vacation video was filmed in June of 2007. Originally the video and sound was going to be edited before publishing. Thanks to DARRELL LEE WRIGHT for supplying this footage. The original:
As an added note: The older woman in this film (Doris A Wright) lost her battle with lung cancer on January 19, 2012. I hope this film will be preserved here for a very long time, as a memorial to this dear woman, who made this vacation possible.

'Grotto Falls'
Distance: 2.4 miles round trip
Difficulty: Easy
Grotto Falls is one of the easiest waterfalls to access in the Smoky Mountains. The falls is only about 15' - 20' high but is well worth the short hike.
Grotto Falls is located off of the Roaring Fork Motor Trail about 4 miles from traffic light #8 in Gatlinburg, TN. The trail head has a small parking area and the 1.2 mile (2.4 total miles) trail is easy to follow and only gains 500' in elevation.

Quick trip through the Roaring Forks Motor Tour in the Great Smoky Mountains. Well worth the time to visit. There are so many beautiful water features through this area as well as some really neat historic homes and homesteads. Really glad we took the time to do this motor tour.
