Maple syrup is freaking delicious. So is Maple Spread. And maple candies. And Maple bacon. All the maple things! For part of our Vermont adventure video, we toured Robb Family Farm in Battleboro, Vermont. They shared with us how they harvest gallons and gallons of maple syrup. There are many different maple farms in the state of Vermont, but we're glad we stopped at this one because of how wonderful their family business is! Five generations strong and still just as sweet. Pun intended. Thanks for watching this video and if you love maple anything comment below with a ????or ????

Whetstone Valley Farm - 2017 Summer Visitors Guide to SoVT
Today on the Visitors Guide to Southern Vermont, we'll explore the rich history of Whetstone Valley Farm of West Brattleboro. For so many Vermonters, farming is a family tradition, and Whetstone Valley Farm is certainly no exception. A 3rd generation family farm, their story begins in the mid-1940's, when the Hamilton Family purchased this land to start dairy farming, a business that would last over 60 years! As their business evolved with the times, the Hamilton's found they, too, had to adapt to the ever changing landscape of sustaninable farming, and in 2006, they sold their dairy farm and turned their focus exclusively to maple sugaring, milling lumber and excavating.

Mighty Food Farms
Film by Joel Gardner. In 2006, Lisa MacDougall started Mighty Food Farm on five leased acres in Pownal with a 1953 Ford Golden Jubilee and an old Troy-Bilt rototiller. Over the years, she expanded to 10 acres and 200+ members of her year-round CSA food-share. After working with the Vermont Land Trust’s Farmland Access Program, Lisa now owns her own land—154 acres in Shaftsbury that she permanently conserved for agricultural use today. This video was created during our fundraising phase of this conservation project.
On the Road in Southern Vermont: Overview | Connecting Point | Nov. 2, 2016
Travel along the Molly Stark Byway, the corridor that runs along Route 9 from Bennington, VT to Brattleboro, VT. This area is beloved by those who love outdoor recreation, and is a popular spot for “leaf-peeping” during the fall.
There is, however, a lot more to this region than maple syrup and fall foliage. A region with great history, southern Vermont has hosted revolutionary war battles, enjoyed economic boom times during the industrial revolution, and is now looking for its place in the 21st century.
Connecting Point executive producer Tony Dunne and videographer Mark Langevin bring us an overview of the people and issues that drive the rural communities and urban centers which make up this picturesque region, to find out what life is like in this part of the Green Mountain state.
