Walk to Rouna - Sogeri snake road
It was during our term one Holiday while we were students at the Sogeri National High school in 2011. We decided to spend a day to walk to the Rouna lookout situated along the Sogeri Snake road over looking the Rouna falls (Laloki River) and Port Moresby.
Sogeri has the best sceneries and a good place to pass time, refresh and enjoy the natural beauty of the environment.

16 Mile Land Dispute
Ownership over a portion of land at Granville, 16 Mile, along the Sogeri Road, has seen Koiari landowner families having five of their family houses destroyed and forced to move.
Although the families argued that the land was customary, Port Moresby Resident, Felix Kange, whose lawyer presented titles and court documents, clarified Kange's ownership of the land.
Lawyer, Federick Lunge, told EMTV, he could not develop the land because people have been squatting on his land and forced eviction was necessary.

The NAUI course was run by Bob Halstead of Tropical Diving Adventures, based at Bootless Bay, near Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. Conflicting Reports told to Media, Police on Sogeri Attempt Hold up
Roxana Steljic, the woman who told EMTV News she was the driver of the vehicle, that was involved in the attempted car jacking outside Port Moresby has signed an exclusivity deal with an international media house.
EMTV News today confirmed on camera that Steljic had signed the agreement and will not be speaking to local media on the incident.
Steljic and her family were travelling down from Sogeri, last Saturday when they were involved in an attempted car theft.

These 3 idiots were captured caught on camera crammed into a sedan trunk while driving up to Sogeri.
It could have been the heat wave but they looked drunk and could not care less about safety.
Thankfully, the did not get into any accidents.
Blame it on the heat or alcohol, this is very unsafe. Let's hope they practice some common sense in future.

Sogeri Road Deteriorating
Sections of Sogeri National Highway from Boda village to Sirinumu Dam at Sogeri need urgent maintenance.
Villagers said the deteriorating road condition is a major impediment to accessing government services.
