The Royal Jewelry Museum of Egypt is located in Alexandria's Zizenia neighborhood and is one of the largest museums in Egypt with a surface area of around 4,185 meters. Moreover, the Royal Jewelry Museum hosts the most valuable displays including the jewelry and the ornaments that the queens and the princesses of the last royal family of Egypt have worn for a considerable period of time.
The Royal Jewelry Museum has more than 11,000 displays that include the collection of Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik that consists of 12 cups that were made out of bronze and gold, 2,753 lobes of precious stones and diamonds, and a money bag made out of gold and other precious stones. Moreover, the priceless collection of Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik has the marvelous Sultan pocket watch that was made out of pure gold and precious stones and a number of glass cups that are decorated with 977 lobes of diamonds. The Royal Jewelry Museum also displays the collection that dates back to the ruling period of Said Pasha that consists of some golden clocks and watches, Turkish, Egyptian, and European insignias decorated with gold and diamonds, and 4000 Roman, Persian, Byzantine, and Coptic coins.

Hundreds of jewels on display as Royal Jewellery Museum re-opens

Alexandria's Royal Jewellery Museum is re-opening its doors to the public - after more than three years of standing empty.
On display are hundreds of unique jewels and objects that once belonged to Egypt's ruling royal family.
STORYLINE:
A first look at some of Egypt's national treasures.
From diamond broaches to jewel encrusted tiaras, these pieces are going on display for the first time in years at the newly re-opened Royal Jewellery Museum in the city of Alexandria.
On show is more than one hundred years of Egyptian history - hidden from public view since the museum closed its doors during the 2011 revolution.
Since then, the hoard of over 1,000 regal jewels has been kept in storage while the country's security situation remained volatile.
Among the gems - a diamond and pearl embellished tiara, once owned by Princess Shwikar, the first wife of King Fuad, and a jewellery set belonging to Queen Farida, who was married to King Farouk.
But now, the Egyptian government says the time is right to throw open the doors, once again, to visitors of the museum.
Egypt's Antiquities Minister, Mamdouh El-Damaty, is being given a private tour ahead of the public opening.
''The re-opening of the jewellery museum in Alexandria is symbolically important: it signals the return of security, because the museum has been closed for the last three years due to the lack of security in the country. So the fact that we can reopen is proof that the security situation has recovered, El-Damaty explains.
The museum features the personal collections of Egypt's leaders from the Ottoman Pasha Mohamed Ali (1769-1849) to the country's last royal leader King Farouk, who was overthrown during the country's 1952 revolution.
The family were known for their decadence and opulence, but after the 1952 revolution President Gamal Adel Nasser confiscated the property of the royal family.
Formally a home to Fatema Alzahraa, the daughter of Egypt's Prince Hayder and Great Granddaughter of Mohamed Ali, the building became a presidential palace after the 1952 revolution. It was then turned into a museum in 1986 by former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.
El-Damaty says he's thrilled that the museum is re-opening.
''This opening is a great joy for us and for the people of Alexandria and our message to the world is that Alexandria is coming back to life and the jewellery museum has returned.''
Amongst the collection is a gold tea set bearing the initials 'F.F.' of King Farouk and his wife Farida - a gift on the occasion of their marriage in 1938.
And a chess set made of gold and coloured enamel captures the minister's attention.
It was a gift to King Farouk from the Shah of Iran, who married the Egyptian King's sister, Princess Fawzia, in 1939.
El-Damaty, formerly the Director General of the Egyptian Museum, was appointed to President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi's government in June.
He's pledged to preserve Egypt's cultural and archaeological heritage which has suffered from lootings, illegal smugglings and a lack of security since the 2011 revolution.

Egypt is my second country in Africa and as we all know that 2 out of 7 Ancient Wonders of the World are here which are the Lighthouse of Alexandria at the Citadel and the Pyramids in Cairo. The other 2 in Greece, 2 in Turkey and 1 in Iraq. But the only remaining intact that has survived is in Cairo which are the Pyramids (which it will be a different vlog).
