Koseski Lake Ljubljana - Slovenia #1
This small artificial lake would freeze over and we’d ice-skate on it. What used to be a clay pit, has served mainly fishermen in the last years, modellers play here with their favourite toys and of course in accordance with Slovenian characteristics, which is exercising, like jogging or cycling around it. There is a footpath that goes around it with several benches along the way.
Koseski bajer lies on the foothills of Roznik and Šisenski hrib which are hills between here and the centre. These places are included in a natural protected area. The Path of Remembrance and Comradeship passes by the pond and that’s why this altogether is Mecca for nature lovers. New sitting areas were constructed a few years ago stretching over the surface of the lake.

TIVOLI park Ljubljana - Slovenia #2
Tivoli Park is Ljubljana's largest and most beautiful park, stretching right into the city centre. It was designed in 1813 by the French engineer Jean Blanchard and created by joining together the parks which had surrounded Podturn and Cekin Mansions. The park, covering an area of approximately five square kilometres, is crossed by three grand horse chestnut tree-lined walks and landscaped with ornamental flower beds, interesting trees and numerous statues and fountains. The park area blends into the slopes of the Rožnik hill, to which it is connected by several walking paths and a trim trail with several exercise stations along its length.
Slovenia 2018 - E5 - Tivoli Park & Ljubljana Castle
I'm up early to make the most out of my final day in Slovenia, heading first of all to Tivoli Park, a beautiful area with lakes and gardens. It's part of the larger Rožnik Hill covered by dense forest and hiking trails - a perfect spot to fly the drone from.
Back in the city centre it's on to the 900 year old Ljubljana Castle which is home to an exhibition of Slovenian history and a renovated watch tower offering spectacular views over the city and surrounding areas.

Ljubljana Hidden Corners: #1 Tivoli Pond (Speech: English; CC: English-Slovene-Croatian-Serbian)
Tivoli Pond (Slovene: Tivolski ribnik, less often Tivolski bajer or simply Tivoli or Ribnjak ('pond') is a man-made pond at the southwestern end of Tivoli City Park in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It was created in 1880. It is part of Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park and has been used for recreation, fishing, and as a flood-control reservoir. The pond is administered by the Barje Fishing Club. It has been home to a variety of native and non-native animal species and it has served as a theme and a scene for visual artists and musicians.
The pond is shaped like a rectangle and it is shallow with a small volume. It has a clay bottom. In 2007, it was about 140 metres (460 ft) long, about 50 metres (160 ft) wide, had a depth of 0.5 to 1.3 metres (1 ft 8 in to 4 ft 3 in), a surface area of 6,600 square metres (71,000 sq ft), and a volume of 5,000–7,700 cubic metres (180,000–270,000 cu ft). In 2011, it was thoroughly renovated and deepened by half a metre.
In the past, Tivoli Pond was a living place of numerous native fish, like the Danube roach (Rutilus pigus), the tench (Tinca tinca), the European bitterling (Rhodeus amarus), the zander (Sander lucioperca), the European perch (Perca fluviatilis), to the European crayfish (Astacus astacus), to amphibians such as the European tree frog (Hyla arborea), to birds such as the black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), the common moorhen (Gallinula chloropus), and the little bittern (Ixobrychus minutus). The ecosystem was severely hurt by several renovations and the introduction of non-native fish species by fishing clubs as well as by individual visitors. In addition, the red-eared slider (Trachemys scripta elegans) and other pet turtles have been introduced, ousting the native European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis).
After the last renovation in 2011, the pond has again become home to non-native as well as native species. The non-native species and aquarium fish are the most common and an unwanted competitor to native ones. Among the native species, the pond is home to bats, ducks, and frogs. The common moorhen has been spotted too.

Ljubljana Hidden Corners: #3 Koseze Pond (Speech: English; CC: English-Slovene-Croatian-Serbian)
Koseze Pond (Slovene: Koseški bajer), Martinek Pond (Martinek bajer) or Lake Koseze (Koseško jezero) is an artificial pond at the edge of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, between Šiška Hill to the west and the neighborhood of Mostec to the east. It is part of the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park and is named after the nearby Koseze neighborhood in Ljubljana's Šiška District.
The pond has an area of 3.8 hectares (9.4 acres) and a maximum depth of 2–3 metres (6 ft 7 in–9 ft 10 in). It is fed by Mostec Creek. It was created after a former clay pit at the site, which supplied the brickworks operated by Gustav Tönnies [sl] (1814–1886), was closed. The pit was then overgrown by grass, but the Agrostroj company later flooded the area to test irrigation pumps.
Koseze Pond is now used as a recreation area by local residents. In the summer it is used for racing radio-controlled model boats and fishing. Swimming is prohibited due to the poor quality of the water, which is also contaminated by cyanobacteria. In the winter it is used for skating. Koseze Pond is a natural habitat for the edible frog, migrant hawker, common bulrush, and common reed.

Entr'acte: Toward the Hilltop
Entr’acte. In between the acts. Day two.
Information in the description.
The Entr’acte: Toward the hilltop is a short parkour/exploration/climbing film that takes place in Central Slovenia (Hill Rožnik).
Finishing the day of filming on the highest point in the city of Ljubljana, watching the sun setting. Back in the days, my friends and I would visit this tower quite frequently. Recently, it’s been discovered by lots of people and even tourists, so the police took notice and set up a bunch of cameras and motion sensors in the area. Mounted police officers are also frequently circling the area of the hill, so right now, the access to the tower is very limited.
I do not encourage anyone to attempt or recreate the scenes seen in this video. The video was made purely for viewer’s entertainment.
Independently produced.

Rožnik
Rožnik is a hill northwest of the Ljubljana city center. Together with Tivoli City Park, it forms the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park. Extending from Tivoli Park, it is a popular hiking, running, and excursion destination for residents of Ljubljana.
One of the peaks is Cankar Peak (394 m) where stands the Visitation Church and an inn where the writer Ivan Cankar lived between 1910 and 1917. Below it, on the southern slope of the hill, is the Ljubljana Zoo.
