Horrific dying forest at Sackville Lakes in Nova Scotia Canada
Conversations in dying forest part one
I started this video very casually but when I headed across the street to the second lake I had to travel through the forest and was horrified at what i saw..Be sure to watch this whole video. It will leave you horrified and depressed if you care about what is happening to our planet...
note there is another second part to this video that is 19 minutes where I had a very informative and detail conversation with a couple and it has much more footage of the death of this provincial park forest..but youtube will not let me upload it
see full report with more videos thevisionaryfolkphotographer.wordpress.com
You can learn about why forests are dying here.

Halifax Sackville Raceway 1955 - 1981
oldhistortyns.ca
1955 - 1981)
Administrative history Sackville Downs Raceway was a harness racing race-track in Sackville, Nova Scotia from 1954-1985. It was operated by the Cruickshank family - B.C., John T., Jack). Events were held at least twice weekly through the summer and on fall holiday weekends.
Custodial history
Collection consists of bound volumes of the official programs from harness races at Sackville Downs Raceway. These are the Raceway's copies so race and betting results are annotated in the programs, and some years have annotations of the season's results: purses paid, pari-mutuel wagering, attendance; fastest horse,
Before amalgamation into the Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996, Lower Sackville was an unincorporated part of Halifax County (2001 pop.: 27,941). This area of HRM experienced a 7% population growth rate between 1996-2001 (2006 pop.: approx. 35,000). In the 1950s and 60s it was a popular destination for Haligonians seeking entertainment at the drive-in theater, WW2 bomber plane ice cream attraction and Sackville Downs harness racing track which provided entertainment until it closed in 1986.
A result of its unincorporated status before 1996, Lower Sackville and adjacent unincorporated communities such as Middle Sackville and Upper Sackville did not benefit from appropriate planning and are examples of urban sprawl[citation needed]. The community's growth reflects its central location, near both Halifax and Dartmouth, with easy access to Highway 102, Highway 101 and Halifax Stanfield International Airport. Proximity to downtown Halifax and Burnside and Bayers Lake Industrial Parks gives the suburbs of Lower Sackville the advantages of employment opportunities and services of a larger city, and is typical of most commuter communities experiencing growth in North America.
Lower Sackville has experienced ribbon/strip-style commercial development along Trunk 1 since the 1960s. Current retail chains include Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, Canadian Tire, Cleve's Sporting Goods, Dollarama and Giant Tiger. There are numerous independent retailers located in this area as well. Most of the restaurants in the area are of the fast food or family dining variety, in addition to others offering Chinese-Canadian food and pizza. Lower Sackville has always displayed an abundance of community spirit, and excelled within the HRM as a strong leader of excellence in sports as well as academics.
Sports
Recreational pursuits in the community revolve around sports fields at local schools and parks, as well as the Sackville Sports Stadium, which is equipped with two swimming pools, gymnasium, curling rink, and one of Lower Sackville's two ice hockey arenas. The majority of Lower Sackville's suburbs were built in the 1970s on the southern edge of First Lake which offers outdoor recreational opportunities. The Bedford-Sackville Connector Greenway is a crushed gravel covered trail running beside the Sackville River from the intersection of Cobequid Road and Sackville Drive to Bedford Place Mall. Prior to the opening of the trail in 2006, there was no easy way to walk from Lower Sackville to Bedford. A provincial park reserve borders the northern edge of the community at Second Lake.
Fall leaves flight over the Sackville River, Nova Scotia
March 14, 2017 was the International Day of Action for Rivers 2017 and I wanted to share my passion for protecting our local and International rivers.
My short aerial video shows the beautiful Sackville River during this past Fall season. The Sackville river runs through rural & urban areas within the city limits of Halifax/Bedford, Nova Scotia.
This is a river that truly flows through a city. I have personally enjoyed many days of hiking, photographing & fly fishing on this river system. With the continued restoration efforts from the Sackville River Association, it is a habitat that supports a healthy ecosystem for many types of fish, birds and vegetation. With Spring just around the corner think about supporting a local river association in your area.
A river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself.”

Vlog # 125 Military Antennas? Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I'm thinking these might be military antennas. In which case this would be a violation of International Law on the part of the Canadian Military. If these are military antennas than that water tower is a target and I can't find any Jacque Cousteau tutorials on sudden wave action in suburban subdivisions.
