JAMESSUCKLING.COM - Short Documentary - Brunello di Montalcino - 2006
After tasting close to 140 Brunello di Montalcinos in Tuscany from the heralded 2006 vintage, I set out with director James Orr to find out why the vintage was so great. I wanted to know more than what was simply in the glass. I interviewed wine producers in their cellars and vineyards. I spoke to wine shop owners in their stores. I even stopped in and spoke to a friend who owns a local restaurant near my house in Il Borro, Italy. See what they all had to say about the magic of the 2006 vintage for Brunello di Montalcino in this 16-minute mini-documentary.

JAMESSUCKLING.COM - Tuscany - Petrolo Galatrona - The Vineyard
Petrolo made mediocre Chiantis for most of its history until the 1990s, when owner Luca Sanjust and his mother Lucia, decided to take a leap of faith and make serious wines. The pure merlot Galatrona's first vintage was 1994 and I've been a huge fan ever since.

Poggio Di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino Offering
Allright, I know some of you may think that I have a one track mind, Italian, Barolo, Barolo, Barolo... I know there is more to life than Barolo, but I can't figure out for the life of me why all the great wines start with a B? Bordeaux, Burgundy and of course Brunello di Montalcino!!!
With everyone focused on the new release from Montalcino, which is outstanding we just hosted a 2006 Brunello di Montalcino tasting and discovered that these wines are among the best in terms of quality that have come from this area in recent history. But lets now forget about the 2001 vintage wines which was also legendary in Montalcino and is just now starting to get close to maturity. Both of these wines are priced less than the current release!
Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2010 Offering
I know you have heard by now that 2010 is a KILLER vintage from Montalcino. Every major wine critic on Earth has been writing about it and we have seen a strong demand for the vintage’s top wines. We have conducted several tastings already with these wines and one of the wines that arrived just after our last comprehensive tasting is almost always among the top wines when we put it in a line-up. Of course, I am referring to Ciacci Piccolomini.

Ferragamo Wine BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO Castiglion del Bosco
Judit & Corina from taste
Castiglion del Bosco BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2004 & 2006
We dedicated a wine to Salvatore Ferragamo and to Sophia Loren who were icons of fashion. Castiglion del Bosco most representative wine is an example of the Sangiovese grape's perfect expression of the territory of Montalcino. Beautiful ruby red color with garnet overtones, and on the nose is broad and determined with typical varietal aromas.
Massimo Ferragamo purchased the Estate and began the extensive restoration. Today, Castiglion del Bosco wines are consistently recognized for their excellence.
The vineyards of the Val d'Orcia, including Castiglion del Bosco's own, produce the most coveted Italian wines, Brunello di Montalcino and are located about 75 miles south of Florence in Tuscany.
