The beautiful big blue Lake Tahoe is split *almost* down the middle between California and Nevada. You can drive around the entire 72 miles of shoreline in about 2.5hrs, with activities like kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, biking, swimming, gambling or simply just staring at the crystal clear (slightly chilly) waters for a while. Sand Harbor Beach and Emerald Bay were one of our favorite spots amongst the gorgeous scenery.

We made it early enough to sand harbor today. You have to get there early other wise they close the parking lot. The water clarity here is way way clearer because the sand it more course so it falls quicker. We made some new friends... went swimming in the cold water and i jumped off some rocks. But the best part was we bought a skippi ball from this dude on the beach and it litterally the coolest toy to play with ever. Ok See you tomorrow bye. Find the Skippi ball at Skippiball.com

The largest alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe is a cobalt blue lake atop the Sierra Nevada mountain range. On its eastern shores, gently sloping beaches, crystal-clear water and interesting rock formations allow for wonderfully sublime swimming, kayaking and scuba diving at Sand Harbor.
Boaters, water-skiers and fisherman can easily launch from one of the park two ramps. Visitors who would like a peaceful retreat from surf and sun can picnic in the shade of cedars and Jeffrey pines in one of many picnic sites equipped with barbecues and tables.
The park also hosts the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival every summer. The parking lots are often full from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on summer weekends and weekdays during July and August. During this time, the Tahoe Transportation District provides the East Shore Express shuttle from Incline Village into the park. Free parking at 771 Southwood Blvd., Incline Village, NV 89451.

Sand Harbor Beach is part of the Nevada State Park system and therefore open to the public. This large beach is spread out and includes a sandy peninsula that provides amazing views of Lake Tahoe & the surrounding mountains. It’s located just a couple miles south of Incline Village on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. This is one of the most popular beaches in all of Lake Tahoe.
Besides the ocean-sandy beaches, there is a boat launch & nature trails. Visitors can also enjoy scuba diving at the park! Lifeguards are on duty from May through September making this one of the safest beaches around.

Lake Tahoe Beach and Rocks - Video Preview (Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe, NV)
Sand Harbor is a fresh water lake beach at Lake Tahoe! Check out some of the shoreline around Lake Tahoe. It really is a great place to visit!
Nevada's east shore is not known for it's sandy beaches... except for Sand Harbor. While most Nevada side beaches have coarse sand that is tough on the feet, Tahoe's prevailing breezes deposit a fine grained white sand here that is the harbor's namesake. However, the area's beauty is derived from the numerous rocks as much as the sand. It's not just about the beauty above water, either. Scuba diving and snorkelling are both very popular here.
Website:
Lake Tahoe (/ˈtɑːhoʊ/) is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States. At a surface elevation of 6,225 ft (1,897 m), it straddles the border between California and Nevada, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America.[3] Its depth is 1,645 ft (501 m), making it the second deepest in the United States after Crater Lake (1,945 ft (593 m)).[1] Additionally, Lake Tahoe is the sixth largest lake by volume in the United States at 122,160,280 acre·ft (150,682,490 dam3), behind the five Great Lakes.
The lake was formed about 2 million years ago and is a part of the Lake Tahoe Basin with the modern lake being shaped during the ice ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides.[4] The area surrounding the lake is also referred to as Lake Tahoe, or simply Tahoe. More than 75% of the lake's watershed is national forest land, comprising the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the United States Forest Service.
Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation.[5][6] Mountain and lake scenery are attractions throughout the year. The Nevada side also includes large casinos. Highways provide year-round access to the area.
