Take a walk from Sayulita's Plaza to Sayulita beach (Nayarit, Mexico)
Sayulita already has a name as a town for those who like surfing, eat ing well and living well too.
It is located in what is now known as Riviera Nayarit, between Punta Mita to the south and San Pancho (San Francisco) to the north. It is about 30 miles from Puerto Vallarta, or between 45 and 60 minutes by car, varies a lot depending on the time of day.
Sayulita Nayarit Pueblo Magico offers very good natural conditions for surfing, a wide beach with ideal waves all year round. They are enjoyed by the local athletes or from large cities in Mexico and foreigners, for example, the US, Canada and Europe. The best surfing season is from December to April and several sports tournaments are held, including the Children and Youth Surf Tournament, Open Surf Tour Pacific Music Festival, Sayulita Surf Classic, Annual Longboard Surf Tournament and SUP, and many more.
Since 2015, the town has had the distinction of Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town), a recognition to the town and inhabitants who have managed to protect the rich cultural, natural and historical Mexican heritage, offering a special experience to all visitors.
Sayulita Mexico is also recognized for its crafts and jewelry, with exponents in Huichol and Cora art. There are several galleries and stores to visit, colorful and diverse expressions in works of art with Mexican inspiration. There are various activities that you can enjoy in town and its surroundings, including several ecotourism activities.
Beginning in November, humpback whales start arriving, they are up to 15 meters long and weigh 40 to 45 tons. You can use various tour operators that take you to see them, just choose the authorized ones that comply with the established whale protection guidelines, because they come here to have their young and should not be disturbed.
Other activities offered on the Sayulita beach and surroundings include snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, ATV, zip lines, hiking, horseback riding and cycling (mountain bikes).
In the summer season, beaches are also visited by olive ridley turtle that nest on the many beaches in the area, you can participate in the event by contacting the Tortuguero Sayulita Camp, where turtles are released all year round, but especially in the months from October to January.
The food is excellent in Sayulita Riviera Nayarit, especially all types of seafood, for example, you must try red snapper (huachinango), marlin, dorado in one of the many local restaurants. Other good options are the ceviches, octopus salads and shrimp, do not forget to try the guacamole and the evergrowing varieties of margaritas.
Fridays are the Tianguis day (local itinerant market) that installs itself on Revolución street, a town market with all kinds of local and regional organic products, crafts and more.
Do not forget to visit this attractive and relaxed town of Riviera Nayarit, it will be an unforgettable experience.

Sayulita Mexico Our First Impression Driving By Sayulita Best Beach Riviera Nayarit
Welcome to sunny Sayulita! Home to beautiful beaches, #MexicanSayulita! culture, world-class activities and more, you will fall in love with this seaside surfer town. Often called the crown jewel of the Riviera Nayarit, Beachfront vacation rentals are a favorite with travelers to the area. Stunning natural beauty, ecotourism, and jungle retreats are just the beginning. Fantastic and fun restaurants, with Wi-Fi readily available, English speaking doctors and pharmacists, and open-air eateries overlooking the sand and surf.
The weather in Sayulita generally is a bit milder than inside the Biha de Banderas (Home to Puerto Vallarta), which is 25 minutes south. November through April is picture perfect with temperatures around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights are often cool enough to need a sweater and jeans. The summer months are hurricane season – but are extremely rare on this stretch of coast. Summer temperatures in Sayulita average 88F (highs are in the mid 90sF / 35C), with high humidity and rainstorms generally in the late afternoon/evening, which cools the air down for the night. August and September are the wettest months in Sayulita.

Hidden Mexican beaches near Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita. Mexico (Playa Escondida)
This is a beautiful secret beach that only locals visit and very few tourists know about. I won't give away the name or the location but there are some clues in the video if you pay attention. This beach is difficult to get to but after getting lost a few times and asking many locals we finally made our way through dirt roads to find this mythical beach. This beach won't stay secret for long once the surfers from Sayulita discover it's awesome waves or when the tourists find this virgin beach it's sure to get packed.
Feel free to use this footage in any way you want just please give the video a like and give this channel credit.

A Little Hidden Gem: Playa Los Muertos Beach Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico
Playa de Los Muertos Sayulita is a great beach option when you are in that area. If you are visiting Sayulita Nayarit you can get there by car or, even better, walking from the downtown area, it's north-west, 1500 feet from the main beach, some 15-20 minutes walking, you go up a small hill, pass by the cemetery and you are there.
If you go by car from Sayulita Nayarit Pueblo Magico, you need to follow the beachside street going to the left, it's quite narrow, so at times you'll need to stop or scoot over if there are cars coming back to town from Los Muertos beach.
Playa Los Muertos Sayulita (which literally means the Beach of the Dead) is called that way because it's found right beside a cemetery, despite the name, it's a quiet, relaxing beach, with soft waves, clear waters and sand, bounded by boulders facing north. Off to the left, beyond the bounding rocks you can enjoy great snorkeling, you'll see schools of colorful fish and other sea life.
It's much more relaxed and placid when you compare it to the one in downtown Sayulita Mexico, so if you wonder what to do in Sayulita Mexico that is different, you can walk to this beach and rent a parasol there or bring your own, you can also rent lounge chairs, there are places that sell food, seafood, pizzas and more at very reasonable prices. Ideal place to just lay back and enjoy a day by the sea.
Playa de Los Muertos Nayarit is a clean, quiet beach and even though its not so big, it is quite charming, kids love it too, as the beach is very placid, with few waves, small ones if there are, so they can build sand castles and not worry about being washed away :-)
