10 Great Places To Live In Mexico.
Many expats are increasingly considering Mexico as a destination, seeking a relaxed lifestyle in the sunshine. Some are seeking a break from modern life, looking for a sleepy village completely free of WiFi and hustle and bustle. Others are seeking to transplant their current lives into the Mexican landscape, living in an enclave of other expats and without learning a single word of Spanish.
The majority of Mexico-bound expats are aiming for something in between, enjoying the comforts of home as well as the vibrant culture that makes this country such an exciting place to live.
In addition to the rich culture, Mexico enjoys a relaxed pace of life and a low cost of living. Shopping in local markets, you can find a kilo of oranges for around USD$0,50. Familiar brands will also be on offer, but these will also be at familiar prices. Healthcare too is much cheaper than in the USA, with quality often surpassing that available in American hospitals.
There are an estimated two million expats living in Mexico. As it can be difficult to find work in Mexico, the majority of expats are expected to be retirees.
Whatever the reason you are heading for Mexico, there will be a location to suit your needs. Whether you are looking for a peaceful stretch of sun kissed or the buzzing vibrancy of Mexico City, there is a destination for you. We’ve taken a look at great places to live in Mexico.
1. Tulum
2. Puerto Peñasco
3. Mazatlán
4. Álamos
5. Guanajuato
6. Playa del Carmen
7. Merida
8. Mexico City
9. San Miguel de Allende
10. Puerto Vallarta

Hidden Gems of Vallarta Nayarit, Mexico
Many travelers have been in the Mexican resort town of Puerto Vallarta. Its beaches and rich cultural history make it one of the top destinations in the country. But what a lot of folks don’t know about is the Riviera Nayarit itself. It’s just 10 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport but then comes a mostly unknown corridor that stretches nearly 190 miles. And that’s where the smart travelers see the real western part of the country. Here are some of my hidden gems of Vallarta Nayarit.
Exploring Sayulita Life - Low Budget Mexico Backpacker Scene
Explore Sayulita, Mexico, a beautiful small town just one hour from Puerto Vallarta. This vlog-style account of the best things to do, restaurants, and excursions, including a trip to the Marietas islands.

Mexico Travels: Nuevo Vallarta, Marietas Islands - Hidden Beach, Sayulita - DJI Drone GoPro
We don’t typically go the resort route but a little treasure of an island caught our eye online a few months ago so we decide to try something different.
The Hidden Beach is inside a sinkhole located on Marietas Islands. You can get to the the Hidden Beach / Marietas Islands from a few places including Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita and Punta de Mita.
From talking to locals we learned that there used to be no restriction on how many people could visit the Hidden Beach per day, unfortunately the beach became trashed with beer cans and carne asada pollution (direct quote from a taxi driver), so the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) put the island on time-out for some cleanup and preservation work.
Getting to this beach was challenging on many levels but we made it and it was so worth it. With day trips to Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta on the side, this trip did not disappoint.

You could retire now, for as little as $175 per week ? Of course, that means cutting back on most luxuries and living a relatively simple life but it does seem possible in lower income countries like The Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Living on $175 per week
Living on a Beach in India for under $175 per week
Vietnam on $175 per week
Chiang Mai on less than $175 per week

Lo de Marcos Real Estate

In Lo de Marcos, you will feel the essence of a true Mexican town. Wide, calm streets, colorful flowering trees and brilliantly painted façades accompany patient fishermen as they weave their nets, which they will later throw into the sea located at the end of the paved walkway.
It is a small paradise on Earth, expresses one of the inhabitants of this corner of the Riviera Nayarit. Here, hotels and villas of the purest Mexican style will welcome you with open arms.
Lo de Marcos is a town with a remodeled gazebo in the downtown and small businesses and restaurants with delicious homemade food and friendly service.
Sayulita was discovered by roving surfers in the late 1960s with the construction of Mexican Highway 200. Today, Sayulita is a prosperous growing village of approximately 6,000 residents. Hailed as a popular off-the-beaten-path travel destination,
San Pancho Culture San Pancho, as the village of San Francisco, Mexico is affectionately known, has preserved its rural essence and the authenticity of a picturesque Mexican town. Here one can still enjoy the serenity and the principles of old Mexico; where people take the time to chat rather than rushing to do business. Just an hour's drive north of Puerto Vallarta airport but a world apart, San Pancho sits peacefully upon a wide palm-fringed golden beach wrapped in a lush cloak of verdant jungle. Quiet cobblestone streets provide visitors and residents a safe haven in which to wander and discover the town, with delightful restaurants close at hand to enjoy delicious refreshment.
