Seal Beach is a city in Orange County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,168, up from 24,157 at the 2000 census.
Seal Beach is located in the westernmost corner of Orange County. To the northwest, just across the border with Los Angeles County, lies the city of Long Beach and the adjacent San Pedro Bay. To the southeast are Huntington Harbour, a neighborhood of Huntington Beach, and Sunset Beach, also part of Huntington Beach. To the east lie the city of Westminster and the neighborhood of West Garden Grove, part of the city of Garden Grove. To the north lie the unincorporated community of Rossmoor and the city of Los Alamitos. A majority of the city's acreage is devoted to the Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach military base.[9]
History[edit]
Early on, the area that is now Seal Beach was known as Anaheim Landing, as the boat landing and seaside recreation area named after the nearby town of Anaheim. The site of Anaheim Landing is now registered as a California Historical Landmark.[8]
By the 20th century, it was known as Bay City, but there was already a Bay City located in Northern California. When the time of incorporation on October 27, 1915, the town was named Seal Beach. The town became a popular recreation destination in the area. The Joy Zone, a beach-side amusement park built in 1916, was the first in Orange County.[10]
The United States Navy's Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach was originally constructed during World War II for loading, unloading, and storing of ammunition for the Pacific Fleet, and especially those US Navy warships home-ported in Long Beach and San Diego, California. With closure of the Concord Naval Weapons Station in Northern California, it has become the primary source of munitions for a majority of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.[11]

Secrets in Seal Beach Waters?
Google Earth- Huntington Beach, California. Just south of Los Angeles between Catalina Island and Bolsa Chica Wetlands and the Seal Beach Weapons Station. I know there was/is an underground defense system covering several acres. But now it appears there is some kind of anomaly on the Pacific Ocean floor just off the site of the Naval base.
Was Benjamin Fulford right when he said they had an underground facility 7 stories high?
What are the long evenly spaced lines with right angles that look like rifts or trenches on the ocean floor?
What about the multitude of UFO's seen plunging in-n-out of the waters of Santa Monica Bay?
Question Everythingeee!

Seal Beach Travel Guide | California Travel Tips
Located just south of Long Beach and north of Huntington Beach, Seal Beach is a quaint seaside community of charming shops, historic homes and great surf.
At just 13.2 square miles, it's one of the smallest beachfront communities in Southern California.
Start your visit at Main Street and Ocean Avenue, which is the center of action in Seal Beach. Set up a spot on the sand, take your kids to the play park or go surfing. The beach's annual Kite Festival takes place in September.
Seal Beach is home to the second longest wooden pier in California. Built in 1906, Seal Beach Pier stretches 1,835 feet. Say hello to Slick the Seal, then stroll to the end of the pier for sweeping views of Long Beach, the Queen Mary and the Seal Beach shoreline. That big white hangar you see in the distance was once home to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. Be sure to bring a jacket, as it can get cold out on the pier — even on a sunny day.
After enjoying the morning on the beach, take a break for lunch with a stroll along historic Main Street, which is dotted with cute boutiques and some of the best restaurants in Seal Beach. Walt's Wharf is a great place for fresh seafood and clam chowder, and The Hangout is popular for brunch. For dinner, don't miss Mahe restaurant, located in the historic Airport Club building on PCH. The food is incredible!
Electric Avenue, which intersects Main Street, once serviced the 40-mile Pacific Electric Railway line from Los Angeles to Balboa Peninsula. The Seal Beach Red Car Museum is housed in a Pacific Electric Tower Car dating back to 1925. Open from noon to 3 on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, the museum offers a glimpse at historic photos, signs and memorabilia from the Red Car line.
The Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station is home to the West Coast's World War II Submarine Memorial. It's located on Seal Beach Boulevard and is open to the public.
If you're looking to avoid the crowds and enjoy a day on the beach, Seal Beach is a great destination. Have fun!!!

Scorpionfish and Octopus at the Blow Hole!(Long Beach-Seal Beach,CA)
Here's a quick video of a nice inshore Scorpionfish or Sculpin as they are commonly called. Such a crazy looking fish, armored with poisonous spines! Reminds me of a slightly less lethal Lionfish.
Also, I caught and released a very small octopus that stuck to the deck and would not let go.

Seal Beach Oil Platform Rig- Breaking Surf 1-18-2019 CA.- surfing
The Seal Beach Oil Platform Rig comes to life with breaking surf on 1/18/2019 approx 1.6 miles offshore!
I tried to do some research on the operations of this structure, if you have any details leave a comment and help out in the comment section, then I will update description.
What I do know, it's a very rare site to get rideable smooth surf, but can get really good!!
Your best chance is winter months, Dec, Jan, Feb, those minus negative tides will help making January your best bet.
In this video after 4 straight days and nights of steady rain and very poor surfing conditions, skies started to clear late night time early morning with light variable winds, leaning slightly offshore east around sunrise 6:55a.m.
Air temp lows a.m. about 45 p.m. high 62 and a water temp about 57.5 degrees and mostly sunny.
With all the leftover moisture on the ground seemed to rebuild a cloud and some light fog cover until about 8:45am most areas after the sun came up.
The swell starting to fill in nicely behind the storm fronts from a WSW direction 260-265 approx getting right into Seal Beach.
The tide was high about 7:04a.m I think 6.2 maybe 6.7 ? making a great shorebreak session for the rip shredders putting their bodies and necks on the line at 13th street.
There were a few 14th street thick mush wedge type cappers bouncing off the south jetty outside that ended in a brutal board breaking shorebreak, but the wait and consistency was too long with no takers until the tide dropped further creating more of a consistent outside good size cloud cruiser wave, although less shore pound.
By the time around 11:00am the wind was still light although side onshore SE, the outside cloud break starting getting fairly consistent with up to about 5-8 guys out through the remainder few hours.
The San Pedro Buoy peaked about 3:00am with a 9.2 feet 18 secs, then held 8's and '7's through out the day, the wind almost stopped at times but stayed about 5-7mph turning SW late afternoon.
Low tide was at 1:43pm -1.3 feet and slightly before that is when I started to see something way out there through the tough sun glare!
After it past slightly to the west approx 1:15p,m. I zoomed in and caught those few waves you see here in the video.
To my surprised after the tide turned around incoming, by 2:20pm the waves really started to soften instead of a last increase push to what I was expecting the oil rig shutdown and back to sleep maybe for the next 8-10 years?
Seal inside bay beach breaks remained fairly decent till sunset 5:08p,m approx with light winds, it was an awesome day overall!

Today I go on the hunt for the loveable California native animal, the seal. And what better place to search for seals than Seal Beach, CA! The city of Seal Beach is a very beautiful little town of the World Famous HWY 1 or Pacific Coast Highway. My intern Gregg back in Texas informs me that this is the best place to find the seals.

Mysterious Creature Washes Ashore in Seal Beach, CA
04/26/2012
An unidentified creature was discovered Wednesday by a woman taking her daily walk along the shore in Seal Beach.
Karen Summers says she animal corpse didn't look like anything she nad ever witnessed.
She called officials from the Public Works Department, who arrived Friday morning and disposed of the unidentified animal.
Summers says the workers couldn't identify the remains either.
The discovery is reminiscent of the so-called Montauk Monster, an unidentified creature that allegedly washed up on a beach near the business district of Montauk, New York in July 2008.
