Just a fleeting glimpse of a typical British seaside town, shot in July 2017. Mainly to try out my new DLSR camera but also as a record and reminder of my many visits to the seaside as a child and adult growing up and living in Lincolnshire. Come rain or shine people love to walk, ride or drive the Prom, meander along the beach or relax in the fresh salty air.
Remember those happy family days with beach picnics, sandcastles, feeding the ducks, paddling in the surf and of course eating fish n chips from newspaper wraps, candy floss and sticks of rock. Well it seems nothing much has changed at the British seaside, nor should it!
I still love the seaside and the hypnotic sound of the sea... it soothes and calms and every generation likes to be down by the seaside.

Whitby is a seaside town in Yorkshire, northern England, split by the River Esk. On the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the Church of St. Mary, reached by 199 steps. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, in the house where Cook once lived, displays paintings and maps. West of town is West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts.
