WHY to go to LA PAZ, Mexico?!?
La Paz is a medium sized city in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It isn't the most well know holiday destination in Mexico, nevertheless there is some good reasons to go and spend your next vacation here. Especially if you are into scuba diving and snorkeling.

El Malecón De La Paz, Baja California Sur, México
VISITA:

Running along the coast of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico is a 5-km long Malecon (boardwalk). The main purpose of this road is to allow easy movement across the city. However, it quickly became the focal point of tourist related activities with a large number of bars, restaurants and shops opening along its length. Since 2004 extensive development has taken place which included a large sidewalk which offers safety for large numbers of people to walk along the coastal front of La Paz.
In September 2011, a bicycle lane was added to the Malecon road, providing cyclists protection from cars and pedestrians.
Playa Coromuel La Paz Mexico Beach (HD)
Playa Coromuel was a nice La Paz beach as you can see. We went there thanks to a free shuttle provided by Princess during our 10 day Mexico cruise aboard the Ruby Princess in March 2016. The ship actually docks in Pichilingue. You can see the video of that cruise port here:
The free bus will take Princess passengers first to Playa Coromuel beach and then to downtown La Paz.
The beach itself was clean and the water was very clear. There were even people snorkeling.
Balandra Beach and Snorkeling in La Paz Mexico - Most Beautiful Beach in Baja California Sur Mexico
La Balandra Beach (Playa Balandra) in La Paz Mexico may be in the top 3 most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Located in La Paz Mexico, Baja California Sur Mexico, Playa Balandra is paradise and has an overwhelmingly calming energy to it. Surrounded by desert and dry mountains, this oasis has clear glassy like water that is shallow for at least a half mile out from land. It is not well known for a snorkeling destination, but I brought my snorkel gear to see what was underwater and surprised at what I found! I found lots of fish and fascinating coral formations. I could have spent a whole day here relaxing, but since I had a long drive back to Cabo Mexico, I left before sundown to get back to my airbnb for the night. It is a two hour drive to Cabo from Balandra Beach.

La Paz Mexico 2017
Welcome to La Paz Baja California Sur Mexico. Beautiful beachside malecón superb restaurants and funky stores make it a great place to enjoy your day with beautiful sunset.
La Paz
La Paz is undoubtedly a place that offers top quality services without losing the charm of a small city, safe and welcoming, but cosmopolitan at the same time, surely a city that covers all your needs. It is the perfect place to enjoy beaches, landscapes, water activities, adventure and promenades almost exclusively, thanks to its tranquility and unique features that make it a place away from the hustle and bustle.
Here you can enjoy activities such as sighting of the gray whale, swimming with whale sharks or diving and snorkeling at Espíritu Santo Island. You can also take a quiet walk visiting the De Todos Santos “Magical Town” and its majestic surroundings.
Baja California Sur is the paradise for sports lovers and the wild life, its climate is an earthly paradise for surfers and allows games of golf all year round, boat trips to the island Espiritu Santo for whale watching and swimming with sea lions. Its pristine beaches are excellent for water sports and also in Cabo Plumo, you can go diving in coral reefs.
Baja California Sur has a variety of dishes to suit all tastes that are sure to delight all visitors. Margarita made with local herbs to which aphrodisiac properties are attributed. You cannot leave and not taste mackerel marinated in white wine, stuffed with shrimp and topped with basil sauce and accompanied by Granada. Burnt Clam (Almeja tatemada) Dish typical from the region of Loreto, these oversized clams are cooked over a bonfire on the beach.
Balandra Beach La Paz Baja California Sur Mexico
VISITA:

ENGLISH:
Balandra Bay, about 30 minutes north of La Paz, is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. Although Balandra is located on the eastern side of the Baja Peninsula, it actually faces west, providing visitors with stunning sunset views across it’s shallow waters. When the tide is low, you can walk all the way across this calm, sandy bay, making it a perfect place for young and old alike.
Thanks to the efforts of the citizens and government of La Paz, Balandra Bay remains natural and unspoiled. In 2012, the Mexican government designated it an Area of Flora and Fauna Protection, ensuring that Balandra beach will remain a popular destination for generations to come.

La Paz Mexico - Baja California Sur Overlanding | Ep 16 | Baja California Overland Adventure
This is episode 16 La Paz Mexico - Baja California Sur Overlanding of my new series from 2017 Xmass trip called: Baja California Overland Adventures
On day 16 of this Baja California road trip, having previously travel to La Paz Baja California Sur Mexico the night before, we woke up to the day of saying good byes. Bred and Bratt would proceed further to Cabo San Lucas and rent a house for over a month, where as I had to start returning back to Canada. Estimating it would take me 5 days to get through mexico while not doing huge distance pushes and then big 2 day push thought USA to Canada.
La Paz is not a big city and is quite charming with good prices on everything compared to Cabo San Lucas. From La Paz travel up to north east to hit some of the nicest beaches in the area, and there are a lot of them, free or payed to stay over night. One of them being famous Balandra La Paz beach.
I've traveled about 4 hours north west trying to hit Baja 1000 route along the pacific ocean side the next day. Having arrived at perfect golden hour sunset at some sort of fishing boats spot with a light house, I called that place home for the night enjoying the slow sunset views. I wish I would have more time to fish in the river near by the next day but return to Canada can't wait.
Overlanding mexico in general means hitting dirt roads when you least expect them. One moment you are driving on highway that can suddenly turn into unpaved highway, and your Baja overland trip may just suddently become spontaneously more fun. The next day of trying to do portions of Baja 1000 would prove to be very unpredictable and full of confusion and suprises.
