The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce celebrated the recently completed renovations at Sheffield's at The Palace with a ribbon cutting on April 26, 2013.
Sheffield's at The Palace, 117 Centre St. in Fernandina Beach, is now open 3:30-10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. The newly renovated bar is serving fine premium spirits, craft cocktails and beer and more. Sheffield's also is is available for private events.

In 1964 Nick joined the Army and assigned to the 2nd. Cav in Germany guarding the east German border. In 1967 Nick returned home to the family business and in July of that year he and Dale married. They have two children, Jamie and Kristy. In 1971 Nick had an opportunity to join the ranks of the Fire/Rescue Department, in 1996 he retired after twenty-five years of service. In 1988 he was elected to the Ocean Highway and Port Authority and reelected in 1992. In 1996 he was elected to the board of County Commissioners and served two terms. Nick has been in the Real Estate industry for forty years. Today he and his son own Best Friends Companion Care, a senior home service. In addition, they own Pinnacle Trust Solutions and fiduciary services. Nick has always had a love of history, especially local history.
