【駅探訪No.14】JR予讃線 下灘駅にて(At Shimonada Station on the JR Yosan Line)
下灘駅は、愛媛県伊予市にあるJR予讃線（旧線）の駅。海の見える美しい駅として、さまざまな映画、テレビ番組、ポスターに使われています。その下灘駅にて、駅の風景や列車の到着風景を撮影しました。
The Shimonada station, located at the Iyo City in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, is a station of JR Yosan Line. This station, where we enjoy great scenery of the Seto Inland Sea, is famous for a location for some films and TV programs. I took this movie of station and trains at the Shimonada station.

青島でのまさかの一泊を終え、早朝から様々な映像作品で有名な下灘駅へ行ってまいりました。
特に『境界の彼方』は実存を問いかける素晴らしい作品だと思います。
伊予長浜駅から車で送っていただいたりと、旅先でのご縁に心から感謝しております。
Shimonada Station (下灘駅 Shimonada-eki) is a railway station on the Yosan Line in Iyo, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR Shikoku and has the station number S09.
The station has been featured on the Seishun 18 Ticket promotional poster 3 times, making it very popular with photographers and tourists.

Continuing our Japan Trip, we left Honshu and made our way down to Shikoku, the smallest of Japan's 4 main islands. We took a bus from Okayama and arrived in Matsuyama, Ehime prefecture after 3 hours. We were greeted by rain unfortunately and so we only spent the first day visiting Dogo Onsen, which is famous for inspiring the bathhouse in Studi Ghibli's Spirited Away.
The next day, we first made our way to Matsuyama Castle which is one of only 12 original castles across the entire country (for an explanation on original castles, you can check out my Matsue Travel vide). The castle was relatively small and also pretty new but the views from up there were pretty nice. Surprisingly, there were also a lot of tourists there, which I didn't expect in this off-season.
Following the castle visit, we took a very scenic train ride alongside the ocean, to reach the small port from where we wanted to take a ferry to Aoshima, aka. Cat Island. Unfortunately, the ferry didn't run that day because of the bad weather so we settled into a nearby cafe instead where they had a cute dog and cat. On our way back, we stopped at Shimonada Station, a train station that was often featured in movies and such for having a beautiful view over the ocean. We spent around an hour there, waiting for the next train before going back to Matsuyama.
Overall, there were some failures during this trip, but that's how traveling goes sometimes. We then got a good night's rest before heading back to the last destination of our Japan trip, Hiroshima.

It runs along the coast of Seto Inside sea.

串駅は、愛媛県伊予市にあるJR予讃線（旧線）の無人駅。牛山隆信氏の『秘境駅へ行こう！』にて、愛媛県唯一の秘境駅に認定されています。その串駅にて、駅の風景や列車の到着風景を撮影しました。
The Kushi station, located at the Iyo City in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, is a halt of JR Yosan Line. I took this movie of station and trains at the Kushi station.
