Durga Parameswari Temple in Kateel (Karnataka)
From Moodubidiri we went to Kateel. Kateel is famous for Durga Parameswari temple. Kateel is about 25 kms from Moodubidiri, 28 kms from Mangalore, 40 kms from Karkal, 45 kms from Udupi, 75 kms from Dharmasthal, 150 kms from Kukke Subramanya and 100 kms from Sringeri. There are temple buildings in Kateel where you can get accommodation at concessional rate (say 100/- per day).
The temple of Durga Parameswari is located on a small island in the middle of river Nandini. From the main entrance on the roadside you have to walk on a small bridge to cross the river in order to reach the temple. The river Nandini flows on all sides off the temple. You can see the mighty flow of water in the river during rainy season. The main diety of the temple is Durga Parameswari. Apart from that there are other deities like Shivva, Ganesh and Subramanya in the temple.
There is also another bridge on the other side of the temple to cross the river and go to the other side of the river. From the bridge you can see the beautiful views of the river and the temple sorroundings. On the other side of the river there is elephant shed. You can see the temple elephant there. The video shows how we touched the elephant and enjoyed its activities for long time.
The other attraction of Kateel is the Dining Hall. Like Dharmasthala and Sringeri, here also every devotee is given free lunch and dinner. In the video you can see how the food is served on banana leaves. Apart from rice, sambar, curry, butter milk there was a sweet dish at the end. The food was tasty and we enjoyed it a lot. Thousands of devotees take free food here on every day. This was a great religious point in our Karnataka temple tour.
Muchur Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple
Muchur is a small little village located close to Moodbidri. It is located 6 kms off the Kinnigoli – Moodbidri road. The village is famous for its Durga Parameshwari Temple. The temple is magnificent and large and has been renovated a few years ago.
History: The temple has a very close link to the Nellitheertha Somanatheshwara Temple. Local legend has it that when sage Jabali performed a penance at the Nellitheertha Cave, Lord Durga appeared there and assured him that the demon Arunasura would be killed (at Kateel). She then blessed the region to have three temples in close proximity. Thus the Nellitheertha, Muchur and Kompadavu (Vishnu) temples came into existence.
Main deities: Durga Parameshwari, Ganapati.
Bhutas: Rakteshwari, Jumadi.
Address: Sri Durga Parameshwari Devasthana,
Muchur,
Muchur Post,
Mangalore Taluk,
Dakshina Kannada – 574163.
How to get there: From Mangalore, take the Moodbidri Road, cross Gurupura, Kaikamba and Ganjimatha. Turn left towards Muchur as you near Yedapadavu. Muchur is 8kms from here.

Suparsha Cave Kamalashile Kundapura
Sri Brahmi Durga Parameshwari Temple (Suparshwa Cave) is in Kundapur Taluk, Udupi District, Karnataka, India. Distance from Bangalore to Kundapur by train - 635 km then by bus to Siddhapur 27 km and from here to Kamalashile 8 km. Suparshwa cave is about 2 km from the temple on Halli Holle road. In Krutha Yuga, when King Suparshwa was searching for a suitable place to do penance & get moksha, He came across this cave & found it suitable. This was the reason to name this cave after king suparshwa. King Suparshwa prays lord Shiva to bless him to do penance without any hurdles. Lord Shiva appoints one of his ganas Bhairava to permanently stay at the entrance of the cave to make sure that king's penance is not disturbed. It is also said that lot of Rishi's and Maharajas have came to this cave to do
penance and one among them is Sri Sridhara Swamiji of Varadapura. At the entrance of the cave, Bhairava swamy idol is worshiped. A little down in the cave towards left are the 3 separate lingas:-- it is also called tri-shakti linga -- kali, Lakshmi, Saraswathi.
Further down towards right is the place where King Suparshwa,
Adi-Shesha & Sri Sridhara Swamy did penance for months & years. A little down into the cave, one can see the birth place of Naga Theertha, which flows between rocks and joins the river Kubja near Kamalashile temple. Next further inside is the Naga Sannidi. Here there is a high dome where one can see hundreds of bats settled. To visit Suparsha cave, do take assistance from one of the temple staff and carry a torch without fail. Kamalashile is surrounded by beautiful mountains and evergreen forests with the river Kubja flowing by the side of it. Kamalashile is famous for its ancient Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari temple located in heart of the village. The name Kamalashile takes after the stone Linga. Goddess Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari is worshiped in the form of a Linga, which is said to be convergence of Goddesses Mahakali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi. Pilgrims get accommodation facilities, free meals 3 times a day and other facilities. In this temple the devotees are treated as their guests.

A Round in Kamalashile Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple of Kundapura Tq. This famous temple of Karnataka is situated on the bank Kubja river near Siddapur of Kundapura taluk. The Kubja river joins Panchagangavali river near Kundapura where other 4 rivers also join said Panchagangavali. This Kubja river, once in a year, overflows and enters inside the temple. Sri Kshetragala Darshana Episode 9 Mandarthi Shri Durga Parameshwari and Kanangi Srinivasa Temple
Mandarthi is a Hindu holy place located 25 km North to Udupi of Karnataka State, India.
The Goddess Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple resides here. The name derives from Manda Aarathi means the Holy Light.
A Dhvajasthamba has been set up in front of the temple but no Dhvajarohana takes place. Mari pooja is observed in the temple along with agamic worship.
The sthala purana has woven these religious perceptions and notions into a legend Naga Kanyas by name Mandarthi was called and thus Mandarthi Durgaparmeshwari has been worshipped and at the same time is poetically praised as a Sarpa Sundari.
The temple is situated in Kannagi via Karkala Hebri route of Udupi District, Karnataka, India.
Kannagi Srinivasa Statue is like the replica of Tirumala Venkateshwara. Those who want to see Venkateshwara can see at Kannagi itself.
The pooja, Rathvosatava are performed beautifully. We are uploading fresh Kannada Movies regularly. To stay updated Subscribe us :

Kunjaru is a hamlet in Kurkaal grama, situated 6-7 miles (approximately 11kms) to the south-east of Shree Krishna’s Udupi.
This small village is reputed for its sanctity owing to the celebrated Durga Temple on a high hillock popularly known by the names: Kunjarugiri, Durgabetta and Vimanagiri.. This potent Durga Saannidhya, which was installed by none other than Lord Parashurama.
The high hills, abodes of Shree Durga and Lord Parashurama, look like “Kunjara” (Elephant) for which the place is known as “Kunjaragiri” or “Kunjarugiri”.
It is also reputed as “Vimanagiri” because the Gods and Godesses came by “Vimana” to offer floral tribute, when Jaganmatha Durga was installed on the hill by the Lord Parashurama.
Sacred association of Vishwaguru Shri Madhwacharya – gives it a prominent place in the spiritual sphere.
The ancient Durga temple stands on the top of Vimanagiri amidst the lush green groves of hilly serenity. This very serene location of the temple, its antiquity and the divinity of the magnificent idol of the Goddess, at once creates a memorable feeling of long lasting devotion and piety in the hearts of the devotees. It has been the experience of every devotee who visits the temple for worship. The devotees feel the spiritual solace and the potent protection at the feet of Durgadevi. The holy atmosphere in and around the shrine, the holy Theerthas, the Lord Parashurama Temple and the nearness to Paajaka Kshetra makes it an important place for the pilgrims.
