Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri.
Chikkamagaluru district in the Indianstate of Karnataka, is the site of the first maṭha established by AdiShankara, Hindu theologian and exponent of the AdvaitaVedantaphilosophy, in the 8th century CE It is located on the banks of the river Tungā.
According to legend, AdiShankaracharya is said to have selected the site as the place to stay and teach his disciples, because when he was walking by the Tungariver, he saw a cobra with a raised hood, providing shelter from the hot sun, to a frog about to spawn. Impressed with the place where natural enemies had gone beyond their instincts, he stayed here for twelve years. AdiShankaracharya also established mathas in the northern (at Jyotirmath, near Badrinath), eastern (at Puri) and western (at Dwaraka) quarters of India.
Sringeri Jagadguru on the Shakti of Vibhuti Prasadam of Lord Karthikeya
Short Messages from Sringeri Jagadgurus: Sringeri Jagadguru explains the Shakti (power) of Vibhuti prasadam of Lord Muruga and the significance of Pazhani Kshetram (Tamil)
Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada has sung the praise of Lord Karthikeya in Subrahmanya Bhujanga Stotram. He says that whatever be the disease afflicting a person, it will subside by the mere application of the Vibhuti Prasada of the Lord. The same Prasada removes evil spirits too.
However setting out to test the power of the Lord is futile. What is the power of the Lord and who are we to test Him? We stand to get nothing out of it. However, if we approach the Lord with devotion, our difficulties subside and it results in our welfare.
Such a divine presence (Saannidhyam) is observed here in Palani. Innumerable devotees have come here for over a millenia, have worshipped the Lord and have become a recipient of His Grace. This fact is known to everyone. No other evidence is required for a fact that has been directly experienced.

THE JAGADGURU SHANKARACHARYA OF SRINGERI: Life & Teachings of an Inspiring Saint
In a world that changes all the time, one thing remains the same — our pursuit of happiness and desire to avoid suffering. The sages of Sanatana Dharma (or Hinduism as it is called today) have always taught us that the philosophy of the Upanishads and other texts like the Bhagavad Gita are our path to lasting happiness.
Foremost among our sages is Sri Adi Shankaracharya, who lived 1200 years ago and is credited with reviving Sanatana Dharma. He established four centers of learning in the four corners of India, of which the Sri Sharada Peetham at Sringeri is the first and most important. This Peetham is blessed with an unbroken lineage of eminent Jagadgurus that stretches directly back to Sri Adi Shankaracharya Himself.
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji is the current and 36th Acharya of this ancient lineage and exemplifies the God-realization of the Upanishadic sages. He is both a direct link to Sanatana Dharma's glorious past and the torch bearer to ensure that the Upanishadic teachings are vibrant even today. This film will take you on a journey into the life and teachings of this great sage. Where was He born and what was His childhood like? How did His divinity express itself? How did He meet His Guru? What made His Guru anoint Him as his successor? Why is His life relevant to us and what can we learn from it?
Through interviews with ordinary devotees, scholars and sannyasis, we discover how the Mahaswamiji practices the essential virtues of humility, compassion, unconditional giving and kindness. While scholars extol His great knowledge, spiritual seekers of all kinds (young and old alike) are carefully guided by Him on the path of Sanatana Dharma. By His personal example and His teachings, the Mahaswamiji demonstrates how the core tenets of Sanatana Dharma can help us lead a balanced, meaningful and happy life even in today's busy world.
An added feature of this film is the simple and penetrating Sanskrit discourse by the Mahaswamiji in which He teaches us about the path prescribed by Sanatana Dharma to avoid suffering and embark on the path to lasting happiness.
This film released on April 9, 2011 to honour the Shashtiabdapoorthi (61st Vardhanti Celebrations) of the Mahaswamiji, is being made available on the Internet on the occasion of Vyasa Puja (July 3, 2012).

Elephants – The main attraction of Sringeri Temple
The most entertaining items in Sringeri are the elephants. There are two elephants which are very attractive. They roam around the temple premises and draw everybody’s attraction. Taking photographs near the elephants is a great fun for the visitors. We also took a lot of photos and videos near the elephants. Our tour to Sringeri will always remain memorable in our live.
Sringeri Sharada Peetha
Sri Sharadamba Temple (ಶೃಂಗೇರಿ ಶಾರದಾಂಬೆ) is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati in the holy town of Shringeri in Chickkamagaluru District, Karnataka, India.
The Sharadamba Temple at Shringeri (Shringa giri in Sanskrit) is an 8th-century temple, founded by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. It housed a sandalwood statue of Shardamba in a standing posture, which was installed by Adi Shankarachaya until the Vijayanagara rulers and Sri Vidyaranya (12th Jagadguru) installed a seated gold statue of Sri Shardamba in the 14th century.
Tradition has it that after the Acharya had dispersed all the non-Vedic creeds prevailing in the country, He was on the look-out for a convenient and holy place where he could establish an institution to spread the truths of Advaita Vedanta. When the Acharya came to Sringeri, he saw an unusual sight on the banks of the Tunga. A cobra was seen spreading out its hood over a frog in labour pains, to give it shadow from the scorching mid-day sun. Struck with the sanctity of the place, which could infuse love between natural adversaries, the Acharya chose this very location to establish His first Math.

Sringeri - Sree Sharadambal Goddess Saraswathi temple, Sringeri, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India
A journey to Sringeri in a KSRTC....
Hello all.....
First of all I am very happy to have reached the 50 Subscribers mark on my channel. Its a big honour to have got here.So a big big Thank You to all those who have supported me.Well I have this habit of visiting the Sringeri Sharadamba Temple every year and this year decided to document the visit in the form of a small video. There are numerous buses {both Govt. and Private} to this temple town from the major cities of Karnataka like Bengaluru,Mangalore,Mysore,Shimoga etc.If in case you don't get direct buses, you can come either to Hassan or Chikmagalur too from where there are a good number of buses originating to Sringeri. The place is not connected by train anyway.Sringeri is around 330 odd kilometres from Bengaluru and lies in the Western Ghats{Chikmagalur District}.The journey itself is pretty mesmerising {especially in Rainy Season} and so is the place. The main deity is Goddess Sharadamba or Saraswathi. The nearest airport is Mangalore {around 100 kms}.Its one among the major pilgrimage centers in South Karnataka along with Dharmastala,Kukke Subramanya,Hornadu etc sharing the distinction.Hornadu is pretty close by {diversion at Balehonnur from Chikmagalur side}.Apart from the Temple, there is also a mutt situated here and numerous other sight seeing locations around.Hope you all enjoy the video{there are some disturbances, sorry for that} and do try to visit this wonderful place.
Thank You for Watching...
Fishes in Tunga River at Sringeri Temple
Sringeri temples are located along the Tunga river, flowing peacefully with fish used to being fed by devotees – no one fishes here as the water and fish are both considered holy.
The river is clean and has thousands of large fishes which can be seen close by and even touched by hand. Here, fishing is prohibited and hence, the fishes come near to us without fear and we can feed them with puffed rice which is liked by the fishes and it is sold out side the temple in packets. It is a nice experience to feed the fishes thronging in hundreds while feeding.
Sringeri Mutt Temple View - Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam and Sri Sharada Peetham
Sringeri, a holy, scenic, hilly place in Karnataka is where peace is palpable, tangible. Enchanted by the sacred spot, of matchless serenity, Sri Adi Shankaracharya founded here the first and foremost of his mathas, the Sringeri Math, also known as the Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Sringeri is where time has stood still; the Sringery of legend, the Sringery of mythology, the Sringeri of history, ancient and modern, the Sringeri where the successive Shankaracharyas have performed penance and attained samadhi, the Sringeri where there has always been a living Acharya, in the authentic tradition of Adi Shankara to bless and guide mankind.
This Video taken on 10-Nov-2018 during my visit to Sringeri with Family.
