From Brig, the road takes you over lengthy curves up the mountain. Halfway up, the Ganter Bridge crosses the Ganter Valley. The bold design of this modern bridge fits harmoniously into the countryside. At 2005 meters, on the summit of the pass, stands the Hospiz of the Bernardine monks. An eight-meter-high stone eagle reminds visitors of World War II.

Goudron Bike Days - Brig Simplon 2018
Am ersten Samstag im Mai, vor der Motorrad-Segnung auf dem Simplon finden die Goudron Bike Days Brig-Simplon in Brig statt.
An diesen Bike Days sind im autofreien Zentrum von Brig viele Motorräder, Verkaufsstände und Attraktionen zu bestaunen. Trialfahrer geben ihre Künste zum Besten und ab Mittag läuft auf der Bühne am Stadtplatz ein Rahmenprogramm. Abgerundet wird der Anlass mit einem Rock-Konzert am Abend. Kann die Segnung am Sonntag nicht auf dem Simplonpass durchgeführt werden, steht mit dem Stockalperhof eine eindrucksvollen Kulisse als Alternative zur Verfügung.

The Trains of Brig Switzerland
Brig is situated near Switzerland's southern border with Italy, between the Loetschberg and Simplon Passes. It hosts standard gauge trains of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and the Bern Lotschberg Simplon Railway, as well as narrow gauge trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB).

Motorradfahrt über den Simplonpass | zwischen der Schweiz und Italien | BMW R1200RS
Motorradfahrt über den Simplonpass von der Schweiz nach Italien. Dieser gilt als der best ausgebaute Pass der Alpen und verbindet in 2.006m das Rhonetal im Schweizer Kanton Wallis mit dem Val d’Ossola in der italienischen Provinz Verbano-Cusio-Ossola und dem Lago Maggiore. Die Passstrasse beginnt auf der Nordseite in Brig und führt auf den Simplonpass mit dem Hospiz. Auf der Südseite des Passes folgt das bereits südländisch wirkende Dorf Simplon und die Grenzgemeinde Gondo. In Italien folgen die Ortschaften Iselle, Varzo und Domodossola.
Auf der Südseite überragt das vergletscherte Fletschhorn die Passstrasse. Etwas nordwestliche vom Simplonpass befindet sich der Spitzhorli (2.736m).
Die geographische Passhöhe befindet sich etwa 400 Meter westlich der Strassenpasshöhe auf 1.996m und somit knapp 10 Meter unterhalb des Strassenpasses. Auf dem Pass gibt es zwei natürliche Seen, den Rotelsee hinter dem Hospiz sowie den Hopschusee, der auf der anderen Talseite liegt. In den letzten Jahren sind noch zwei weitere Seen künstlich angelegt worden.
