To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we concocted a small movie... to show you all the hard work and preparations that go on behind the scenes to ensure your happiness. Opening a ski centre is a lot more than just flicking the switch to ON once the snow arrives !
Montcalm celebrates 50 years and partners with OuiCanSki
In 1969, a newly-arrived Canadian from Poland named Tadek Barnowski, started Ski Montcalm in Rawdon QC. At the time, Quebec was filled with family-owned ski hills. Unlike most of the province's family-run mountains which have closed, the Barnowski family is about to celebrate 50 years of skiing bliss.
A recent addition to Ski Montcalm is the OuiCanSki program which introduces newly arrived Canadians to the wonders of winter and the joys of skiing. This year, they have already started a OuiCanSki ski school for 60 newcomers from Israel and Russia and during the winter they will be host to additional OuiCanSki days.
For the Barnowski family, it is coming full circle.
