Socorro Islands on the Solmar V
Socorro Island diving has become one of the most popular liveaboard diving experiences in the world, Socorro is part of the Revillagigedo archipelago, this group of islands is located in the eastern Pacific Ocean, approximately 250 nautical miles south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, at the tip of the Baja peninsula.
These islands have been compared to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador or Cocos Island in Costa Rica because of the big animal encounters they provide, such as giant mantas, humpback whales, playful dolphins, tuna and over 7 shark species give you the best animal diving on earth! On occasion we also see orcas, false killer whales, bait balls and plenty of other surprises!
The Revillagigedo Archipelago consist of 4 islands – San Benedicto Island, Socorro Island, Roca Partida and Clarion. They are wild, remote and unpredictable.
In Solmar V we have 9 & 11 days trips available, contact us and discover why this 112 ft vessel is the perfect combination between luxury and adventure and find out why is the favorite among the Socorro Island visitors.

The spirit of Socorro - Diving in Socorro Island Mexico
The spirit of Socorro lies within these deep blue pacific waters. The abundance of sharks, dolphins, manta rays, and marine life makes Socorro an adventure of incredible beauty.
The best known of the Revillagigedos of Mexico is Socorro Island, so much so that the group of islands is often referred to collectively as 'Socorro'. Approximately 9 miles wide, the island and its surrounding waters have become synonymous with liveaboard diving cruises and big fish action, particularly manta rays, hammerheads, silkies, silvertips, whitetips, Galapagos sharks, tiger sharks and whale sharks), dolphins and even whales.

This is just a sample of the magnificant creatures you will see! Check out all of our upcoming adventures at
Socorro Magic - Diving at the Socorro Islands aboard Solmar V
When it comes to big fish - the Socorro Islands is a must!
Located in the eastern pacific 250 miles offshore Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the islands attract all kinds of pelagics: Big schools of jacks and tunas, giant mantas, dolphins, all kinds of sharks (including hammerheads and whalesharks) and - seasonally - humpback whales.
The Socorros is a very remote and exposed place, which can only be dived aboard safari boats. The Solmar V is one of the most experienced and renowned amongst them. Very professional and highly recommendable!
This video shows some of the highlights of my Socorros trip in May 2011. Enjoy!

Los Cabos - Travel, Expenses, Life and Income Updates - Nov 2019
This is my monthly life, travel, expenses and income update, this month was from Los Cabos, San Jose Del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Playa Del Carmen, and aboard a ship in Socorro. Read and follow along here:
This month started in Playa Del Carmen and although I liked it a lot, it was more or less what I had already written about in the past two blog posts. However the second half of the month was a completely new experience for me. I flew from Cancun Airport to Los Cabos and went from the south east of Mexico, all the way to the opposite side on the north west, in Baja California.
My expenses this month were a bit mixed as as you’ll read in this month’s update, I did a lot of really cool things ranging from diving in cenotes to surfing in San Jose Del Cabo, staying in a baller ocean view condo in Cabo San Lucas, and ending it on a 10 day liveaboard scuba boat in the Socorro islands where I am now. This month normally would be been over $10,000 easily if I was a standard tourist, but if you’ve been following along my journey, you’ll know that I’m not the one to blow budgets like that. Keep reading for this month’s full update.
