Southwest Head & Lighthouse; Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick

The Southwest Head of Grand Manan is a spectacular place. The trail allows multiple vantage points of the basalt cliffs and the Maine shoreline on the horizon. The lighthouse is obscured by an ugly transmission tower. One can't help to wonder why they built the tower so close to an historic lighthouse.

CLIMBING SWALLOWTAIL LIGHTHOUSE ON GRAND MANAN, NEW BRUNSWICK

On this journey to Grand Manan, New Brunswick, I decided to climb to the top of Swallowtail Lighthouse and check out the view for North Head. And it did not disappoint after a night of camping on Grand Manan Island. This island is called Grand for a reason.

Grand Manan Adventure - Swallow Tail Lighthouse

The Grand Manan Adventure ferry sails past the iconic Swallow Tail Lighthouse.

Swallowtail Lighthouse; Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick

This lighthouse is in my opinion the most beautiful on Grand Manan Island and possibly New Brunswick, The video is taken from the village of North Head. The lighthouse itself has an interesting cable bridge to access and is seen from multiple locations around the island.

In My Footsteps: West Quoddy Head Lighthouse - Lubec, Me.

Shots of West Quoddy Head Light and the Canadian border with some seals in Lubec, Maine. Lubec is the eastern most point in the United States. With no passport I was not daring to cross the bridge. Also, the lighthouse I saw on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, across the water, was not East Quoddy Head like I said. It is actually Mulholland Point Light.
