Watching the hot springs of Manikaran from the bridge leading to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurudwara.
Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara – A famous Pilgrimage centre for Sikhs & Hindus, Kullu (Himanchal Pradesh)
Manikaran, perched on the right bank of the roaring Parvati River.
Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is located where Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was with his Sikhs in the Himalaya mountains of India. His sikhs were hungry and there was no food. Guru Nanak sent his Good Friend Bhai Mardana to collect food for Langar.
Many people donated rice and flour (atta) to make parsadas (bread). The one problem was that there was no fire to cook the food.
Guru Nanak than lifted a rock and a hot spring (hot water) appeared. The Sikhs were able to make rice and beans. Bhai Mardana was having trouble making parasadas (chapatis) because they kept sinking. Bhai Mardana said, I am going to donate my life in the name of God. The parsada amazingly floated. Guru Nanak Dev Ji said that anyone who donates his life in the name of God, All his (or her) drowned items will float. This was a miracle.
The place is famous for its hot boiling sulphur springs, which are revered by lakhs who come here for a dip in the curing waters. It is believed that the hot springs can cure skin diseases or even ease the swelling caused by gout. A huge Gurdwara has been erected in the memory of Guru Nanak who is believed to have visited this place. A number of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims visit the Gurdwara every year.

Gurudwara Shri Lakhpat Sahib Ji - Kutch
Gurudwara Lakhpat Sahib is one of the most famous places of worship for Sikhs in Gujarat and is thronged by thousands of pilgrims each year. Apart from being an affluent port in the erstwhile era, Lakhpat also boasts of its associations with several people and prominent gurus.
This Gurudwara here is related to the oldest order of the Sikhs which is called as the Udasi Sect. There are legends that say that Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first of the ten Sikh Gurus, visited the place during his trip to Mecca. This fact is never factually corrected though. Some of the major elements in this Gurudwara are elaborate cradles of wood, sandals of wood that are believed to have been used by Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself and Udasi Sect’s several manuscripts.
The Gurudwara at Lakhpat Sahib has stood there majestically since 1800s and several believers of the Sikh faith gather here from places nearby and finally settled here which was pretty close to Gandhidham, a settled town in those days. After partition of the country, a handsome amount of Sindhi population migrated and settled into the heart of this place. These people from Sindh were devoted to the service and message of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They helped the existing communities of Sikhs establish the Gurudwara in a true and magnificent self here. They then continued to serve it for many decades without causing any damage to the actual structure.
The actual history of the city and the Gurudwara is much richer than this, though legends assert that the first guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited this place when he undertook a trip to the Holy Islamic Cities of Mecca and Medina which both lie in the Saudi Arabian peninsula. Although, there is no significant historical proof of the same, but this story is widely accepted and believed by Sikhs across the nation. This Gurudwara later served as one of the strongest holds of Udasi Sect of the Sikhs which is the largest of all the sects. Gurudwara Shri Lakhpat Sahib is a gurudwara where several religious and historical treasures are kept safe. Its repertoire includes Charan Paduka Sahib. There are the Khadvas (wooden sandals) that was used by the divine being of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

As per the description available in ank (page) 387 of Bhai Bala Janamsakhi Guru Nanak Dev Ji came to Manikaran for the welfare and wellbeing of the people of this region, around the year 1574 of the Vikrami Calender. Bhai Bala writes that when the arrived at manikaran Bhai Mardana with the permission of Guru Nanak Dev Ji collected flour and pulses from the local people for langar. Guru Nanak Dev Ji asked Bhai Mardana to lift a stone from the spot where he was sitting. When the stone was removed a pool of boiling hot water fed by a hot water spring emerged. Guru Nanak Dev Ji told Bhai Mardana to tie the pulses in a cloth and to knead and roll the flour in the form of prasadas and throw everything into the hot water pool. When Bhai Mardana did so everything sank and disappeared. Bhai mardana, with a despondent look on his face turned to Guru Nanak Dev Ji for guidance. Guru Nanak Dev Ji asked Bhai Mardana to pray to the almighty l that if the lost food was recovered he would donate one prasada in the name of the almighty. When Bhai Mardana prayed thus, miraculously the food which had disappeared resurfaced, fully cooked. Guru Nanak Dev Ji explained that just as in the case of the lost food, any person who thus prays to the lord, recovers all he has lost. Even today the pool exists and is used to make for the free langar (free community kitchen) at the gurudwara Nanak Dev Ji.
The news of the miracle spread like wildfire throughout the region. People recognized Guru Nanak Dev Ji as a beloved of god. Even the king of this region came and prostrated himself before the feet of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Guru Nanak Dev Ji in his humble manner counselled the gathered populace that the almighty is omnipresent and omniscient. If you pray to him you will also be blessed. If you spend a portion of your earnings to serve saints and holy people, to build dharamshalas for the welfare of visitors and wayfarers you will attain a place at the almighty's feet. The visit of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is also predicted by Maharishi Ved Vyas on page 28 verse 33-44 of the Bhavishya Puran.
Guru Gobind Singh also visited this place with his Panj Pyaras.
The Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurudwara provides some extraordinary sights. One can enjoy a dip in the hot waters from the springs. There are altogether three baths, one is located under the Gurudwara itself. By taking bath here and by drinking water of this place, people go to Heaven, this is said of the Manikaran tract since the times immemorial. It is understood that the Manikaran hot spring is said to have got Uranium and other radio active minerals.

Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib is a famous and historical pilgrimage for Sikhs.
It is said as Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji came to Manikaran with Bhai Bala and
Janamsakhi for the welfare and wellbeing of the people of this region.
Bhai Bala writes that when they arrived at manikaran Sahib Bhai Mardana with
the permission of Guru Nanak Dev Ji collected flour and pulses from the
local people for langar. Guru Nanak Dev Ji asked Bhai Mardana to lift
a stone from the spot where he was sitting. When the stone was removed
a pool of boiling hot water fed by a hot water spring emerged.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji told Bhai Mardana to tie the pulses in a cloth and to
knead and roll the flour in the form of prasadas and throw everything into
the hot water pool. When Bhai Mardana did so everything sank and disappeared.
Bhai mardana, with a despondent look on his face turned to Guru Nanak Dev Ji
for guidance. Guru Nanak Dev Ji asked Bhai Mardana to pray to the almighty l
that if the lost food was recovered he would donate one prasada in the name of
the almighty. When Bhai Mardana prayed thus, miraculously the food which had
disappeared resurfaced, fully cooked. Guru Nanak Dev Ji explained that just as
in the case of the lost food, any person who thus prays to the lord, recovers
all he has lost.
Today Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib can accommodate more than 4000 people at a time.
Here free langar is available round the clock. But this was not always so.
This gurdwara is built on what was once a cremation ground. Baba Shri Narain
Hari Ji came here with his wife, wishing to commemorate, in the form of a
Gurudwara, the visit of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to this place. After looking high
and low he was able to locate the exact spot where Guru Nanak Dev Ji uncovered
the hot water pool in which uncooked food disappeared, which miraculously
reappeared fully cooked. Even today the food is cooked here in big vessels by
immersing them in the spring of hot water. Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib is located
in the Parvati Valley on the river of Parvati in Kullu District of Himachal
Pradesh.
