Tour Scotland travel video of a walk around St Mary's Scottish Episcopal Church on ancestry visit to Birnam, Highland Perthshire. The land for the new church was given by Sir William Stewart, Laird of Murthly, and the building was completed in 1858, being dedicated to St Mary the Virgin by the Reverend Charles Wordsworth, Bishop of St Andrews from 1853 to 1893 and a nephew of the famous poet William. The main church was built to a design by William Slater in 1858. The addition of north aisle and baptistery was by Norman and Beddoe. The Organ was originally by Forster and Andrews 1874. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand .

Bodies of 'hundreds' of children buried in mass grave
The bodies of hundreds of children are believed to be buried in a mass grave in Lanarkshire, southern Scotland, according to an investigation by BBC News.
The children were all residents of a care home run by Catholic nuns.
At least 400 children are thought to be buried in a section of St Mary's Cemetery in Lanark.
The Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, which ran the home, refused to comment on the findings.
The research by the File on 4 programme in conjunction with the Sunday Post newspaper focused on Smyllum Park Orphanage in Lanark.
It opened in 1864 and provided care for orphans or children from broken homes. It closed in 1981, having looked after 11,600 children.
A burial plot, containing the bodies of a number of children, was uncovered by two former residents of Smyllum in 2003.
Frank Docherty and Jim Kane discovered an overgrown, unmarked section of St Mary's Cemetery during their efforts to reveal physical abuse which they said many former residents had suffered.

Beautiful Summer Drive Through Glen Quaich Highland Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of a beautiful Summer drive through Glen Quaich on a single track road past Loch Freuchie ancestry visit to Highland Perthshire. A large number of Scottish people stayed in this area prior to mass emigration, mostly to North Easthope, Canada, in the early 19th Century. Rob Roy MacGregor and Bonnie Prince Charlie passed through here. This road is only wide enough for one vehicle. It has special passing places. If you see a vehicle coming towards you, or the driver behind wants to overtake, try to pull into a passing place on your left, or wait opposite a passing place on your right. Give way to vehicles coming uphill whenever you can. If necessary, reverse until you reach a passing place to let the other vehicle pass.

Glenmuick Parish Church Ballater Scotland
Tour Scotland video of Glenmuick Parish Church on ancestry visit to Ballater, Aberdeenshire. A small church with a wooden spire was built in the square in the 1780s, but as the village grew in stature during Queen Victoria's frequent visits from Balmoral in the 1850s and after the railway arrived in Ballater in 1866, the church was deemed too small and plain. The replacement church shown in the video was built by Aberdeen architect J. Russell Mackenzie and opened in 1874.

Cathedral of St. John the Divine Stained Glass Windows
Located on the southern fringe of Harlem, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Begun in 1892, the cathedral is still only two-thirds finished. Neighborhood youths are trained by European masons in the courtyard next to the church to cut limestone and granite in the centuries-old style to be used in the cathedral’s construction. When completed, it will be the largest Gothic style cathedral in the world. St. John the Divine embraces the interfaith tradition with seven chapels (the Chapels of the Seven Tongues), each dedicated to a different nation or ethnic group.
The Great Rose Window at the cathedral is the largest stained glass window in the United States. It contains more than 10,000 pieces of glass.
In the Sports Bay stained glass window, there are over two dozen sports depicted, including bowling, auto racing, figure skating, ice hockey, basketball, baseball, fishing, and golf.
In the American History Window, one can see the images of Christopher Columbus, the Declaration of Independence, Ben Franklin, Jack Benny and the sinking of the Titanic.

A look around Holy Trinity Church, St Austell, Cornwall
A look around Holy Trinity Church, St Austell, Cornwall, UK (a.k.a. St Austell Parish Church), 31 May 2017.
Having heard the church clock strike twelve, we enter and explore the freshly-cleaned interior of the building, before taking a walk around the outside - with musical accompaniment provided by the church's pipe organ. (This fine instrument currently faces an uncertain future owing to a proposed scheme of alterations to the building, which may also involve the removal of the pews and font cover, the redevelopment of the vestries, and the creation of a mezzanine floor at the rear of the church).
CORRECTION: The current Vicar is Howard Flint, not Harold - apologies for my mistake (although apparently I am not alone in having made it!)
For more information about the church and its activities, see:
