New Brunswick Travel Guide (Canada) | Visiting Fredericton, Saint Andrews, Fundy & Hopewell Rocks
Come join us for our New Brunswick Travel Guide as we visit this beautiful province in maritimes of Canada visiting Fredericton, Saint Andrews, Fundy National Park and the Hopewell Rocks.
We kick things off in Fredericton, where my parents live, playing tourist by visiting the historic downtown centre, city hall, pedway, lighthouse, Odell park and legislative building as well as walking along Waterloo Row to see some historic mansions and the Fredericton Railway Bridge (pedestrian walking bridge) to grab lunch and beers at Picaroons Roundhouse.
From Fredericton we continued our road trip by heading south to visit Saint Andrews. Beautifully situated along the coast this is one of the most scenic towns in New Brunswick and great place to go boating and/or whale watching. Although we just visited briefly we really enjoyed our fish and chips and assorted seafood platter lunch and walk along the beach.
We continued onward to Fundy National Park where we set up base in a beautiful cabin located in Cape Enrage nearby Alma. From here we did several days worth of exploring Fundy National Park visiting lakes, hiking trails, beaches, rivers and more. Togo especially loved the opportunity to splash around as much as he could.
Our final stop visiting New Brunswick was at Hopewell Rocks - the most iconic attraction in the province. Having a chance to visit with beautiful weather and before the crowds descended was the perfect ending to our time in New Brunswick. If you're looking for an underrated Province to visit in Canada look no further than New Brunswick. This province has so much to offer and is well off the typical tourist radar.

New Brunswick Travel Guide (Canada) | Visiting Fredericton, Saint Andrews, Fundy National Park & Hopewell Rocks:
Today we’re going to be taking you on our family road trip across New Brunswick! After two days driving across Ontario and Quebec, we finally arrived at our destination: Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick. We show you Fredericton highlights, and then we’ll be touring the charming seaside town of St Andrews, hiking in Fundy National Park, and marvelling at the Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy, which is home to the highest tides in the whole world. We hope you’ll enjoy our tour of the province and now let’s go explore New Brunswick.
We took a break after all that food and drink, and later in the afternoon we drove to Odell Park so that Togo could enjoy a walk in the woods.
We showed my parents a few of the city landmarks stopping at Town Hall, the lighthouse, and the Legislative Building, and then it was time to hop in the car and start this road trip!
Our next destination was St Andrews, about a 2 hour drive away. This is a very picturesque seaside town where you can do whale-watching excursions, boat tours, and enjoy delicious seafood.
Because it was such a hot day, we also made time to find a beach so that Togo could splash around.
Then, it was time to hop back in the car and drive to our next destination: Cape Enrage where we had rented a cottage for the next 2 nights. It was about a 3 hour drive to get there with a few stops for the dog along the way. We had to cross all of Fundy National Park.
The following morning, we got an early start and made our way to Fundy National Park for some hiking. After a few days of driving, Togo was thrilled to be out in the woods leading his pack down the trails.
After a little snack on the picnic tables, we got back in the car and drove towards Herring Cove to give Togo a chance to play in the water. Alma is a small town located just outside the park, so they picked up some fish and chips with coastal views.
That afternoon, we continued exploring the rest of Fundy National Park and visited two different lakes. The fog was starting to roll in as we drove back to the cottage that afternoon, and shortly after, it started to rain. We were lucky enough to have a special visitor: this deer!
The next day was another early start because it was our last day in the province and we couldn’t miss the Hopewell Rocks!

Travel Atlantic Canada | Bay of Fundy Lighthouses in 4K | Visit New Brunswick
Welcome to my Channel!
Lighthouses of Charlotte County, NB.
Travel to Atlantic Canada and visit these beautiful lighthouses near St. Andrews by the Sea located in South West New Brunswick. These historic lighthouses are located on the Bay of Fundy which has the world's highest tides at up to 50 feet twice a day! This video takes you to 5 distinct locations with beautiful cinematic drone footage in UHD 4K quality. This lighthouse tour can be done by vehicle in one day for the ultimate vacation road trip. The lighthouses in this video are below:
0:01
Green's Point Lighthouse, L'Etete Passage, New Brunswick
This lighthouse was built in 1879. There is a museum and a cottage that can be rented to support upkeep of the lighthouse. Most of all, this area is rich in marine life. Whales can often be seen and heard nearby and there is an abundance of sea birds and fishing boats travelling through including the ferry to Deer Island.
0:19
Mullholland Point Light, Campobello Island, NB, 1884
This lighthouse is a wooden octagonal tower standing forty-four feet from it's base and was completed in 1884. It was built to guide vessels through Lubec Narrows, an area with a quick current as the world's highest tides enter and exit the channel. Lubec, Maine is directly across the water and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Bridge to Maine is nearby.
0:44
Pendlebury Lighthouse, St. Andrews, NB, 1833
This lighthouse was constructed in 1833 and is the oldest remaining mainland lighthouse in New Brunswick. It is located at the tip of a peninsula in the Passamaquoddy Bay and the entrance to the St. Croix River. It has weathered the Saxby Gale storm of 1869 and was also blown over a few years later. It has remained in it's current location since 1875.
1:02
Pea Point Lighthouse, Blacks Harbour, NB,
This lighthouse lies just offshore of the Blacks Harbour peninsula. During high tide, the lighthouse is only accessible by boat. Pea Island was originally purchased for $75 and the nearby tip of a nearby peninsula was purchased for $150 so that the keeper could grow farm produce to help supplement his $250 yearly salary. In 1965, the old wooden lighthouse was replaced with the current concrete tower. One of the lightkeepers raised a large family on the island and there is much history that has been kept and shared about growing up on Pea Island.
1:38 - Low tide
2:02 - High tide
Head Harbour Lighstation, Campobello Island, NB
Built in 1829, this is the second oldest lighthouse in New Brunswick. It was built to help ships navigate the Bay of Fundy fog, high tides and rugged rocks of Campobello Island. The original octagonal wooden tower is still in use and the light still shines. During low tide, you can visit the lighthouse and enter the tower. There are interpreters during the summer months to share the history of the station and the island. A group of volunteers help maintain the station and preserve it's unique markings and history.

Fundy Tide Runners | Exploring the Bay of Fundy in Saint Andrews, NB
During my trip to Saint Andrews in New Brunswick my girlfriend and I went on a whale watching excursion with Fundy Tide Runners.
While we did see a few whales and other sea life my GoPro wasn't able to pick up any of the finer details of what we saw although I did want to share the experience that I had so that you can get a better idea of what to expect if you head out into the Bay of Fundy with Fundy Tide Runners.
We did happen to see a few whales breach the surface as well as some seals, porpoises, a bald eagle or two, and quite a few other birds native to the area.
Unfortunately we were unable to catch the much-anticipated “whale jump” and we also never saw the whale tail either but it was still a fun and enjoyable experience nonetheless.
For whale watching you might be better off with one of the larger boats because you'll have a better vantage point higher up above the whale so you'll see more of it while it's in the water. The larger boats also move much slower so you'll stick around longer once you spot a whale and this increases your chances of seeing a jump or seeing the tail.
However, the experience with Fundy Tide Runners on the high-speed Zodiac boat was incredible and it's amazing just zooming over the water at high speeds with the wind blowing in your hair.
Overall, my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience with Fundy Tide Runners and although we got unlucky with the whale watching I would still definitely recommend them if you're ever visiting Saint Andrews and looking for something fun to do.
Be sure to check out the Fundy Tide Runners website:
You can also check out a more in-depth review that I wrote on my blog:
As always, thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe to stay up-to-date with my future videos!

CORONATION PARADE 1953 IN ST ANDREWS. N.B. CAN YOU SEE YOURSELF? LONG VERSION FOR MORE IDs PLEASE
On 2nd June 1953 Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in England. Here in Saint Andrews a large crowd assembled to watch an impressive parade. Leigh Williamson shot about half an hour of film of the parade and his nephew John L. Williamson recently had it digitised. Franklin Cardy has worked on it with a group of enthusiastic residents, to identify as many of the participants as possible and to produce a historic archive. Despite their efforts, there are still a number of key participants waiting to be identified and we hope to get additional help from as many people as possible before making a final version of this film. There are over 100 “freeze-framed” participants each with a reference number on this slowed down version and we hope viewers will identify some of the remaining unknowns.
Please leave a comment on this YouTube page or contact me at 529 4280, or by email at: cardy.franklin@gmail.com or one of our group, with your suggestions. Particular thanks goes to Jeanie Stinson, David Graham, Jeff Holmes, Lila Haughn, Nancy Keay, Clayton Dickson, Faye McMullon, Sheila Washburn and especially John Williamson who has made the film available for the public.

Lighthouse (Live Acoustic) - Jaryd Stanley
On a recent trip home, my sis (Kirsten Stanley Productions) and I happened to be in one of my favourite places in the world, St. Andrews, New Brunswick, at the same time, both working at the same wedding. We had about 10 minutes to film this song, which is about this place. Here is a raw acoustic version of my song, Lighthouse.
Cheers!
AMAZING MARITIME HOSPITALITY GOING TO ST ANDREWS BY THE SEA & DEER ISLAND!
Campobello Island is a hidden gem in the Bay of Fundy. It is also home to FDR's cottage and a beautiful lighthouse called Head Harbour Lighthouse. Sadly, I wasn't prepared for the road blocks put in front of me but I was able to make it to St. Andrews by-the-Sea and Deer Island! And of course, an awesome trip across the Deer Island Ferry.

GROUNDHOG DAY STORM 1976
Teddy Rooney filmed the extent of this storm from the Town wharf to the Lobster Plant and rail tracks awash during the storm and also next day when he documented the damage along the shore and around town. Dramatic clips of the waves breaking over the cottages on Chandler’s Lane and Patrick Street are brought to life by Jeff Holmes who owned one of them and received good advice. George Mathews also adds detail and colour to the commentary on this historic storm. Length: 12.54
