Arriving In Tokyo: Shinjuku and Shibuya
Hi everyone!
Finally! Some of the footage that I recorded in Japan back in May this year I have made into a video at last!
This video covers some of the things I did on my first few days there in Tokyo. Please see the list below of the key events that are in this video in order from first to last:
1. On board the JR Narita Express Train travelling to Tokyo JR Shinjuku Station.
2. Outside the JR Shinjuku station.
3. Walking through the streets of the Shinjuku area.
4. Enjoying the Robot Restaurant show in Shinjuku(I highly recommend!).
5. Entering Yoyogi Park in Shibuya.
6. Inside the Meiji Jingu shrine at Yoyogi Park(also recommend as it's very peaceful there).
7. Walking through the streets of Harajuku which included Takeshita street in Shibuya.
8. Arriving at Shibuya crossing and walking across it. I recorded a couple of different angles which included going up to the second floor in Starbucks which gives you a nice vantage point of the crossing.
The following footage was recorded from my mobile phone so parts of my video might be shaky so I do apologize.
If you have any questions about what you saw in my video or would like any advice about travelling to Japan then please let me know! Also any video feedback will be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to be more creative with my videos so that they stand out better.
Also, if you enjoyed my video then please subscribe to me and give it a thumbs up!
Thank you very much! :)

KABUKICHO SHINJUKU - Tokyo's RED-LIGHT district
KABUKICHO SHINJUKU - Tokyo's RED-LIGHT district
Kabukichō (歌舞伎町) is an entertainment and red-light district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Kabukichō is the location of many host and hostess clubs, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, and is often called the Sleepless Town (眠らない街). The district's name comes from late-1940s plans to build a kabuki theater: although the theater was never built, the name stuck.
The area has many movie theaters, and is located near Shinjuku Station, Seibu Shinjuku Station, and several other major railway and subway stations.
PASSED OUT in the MIDDLE of TOKYO! COPS don't know WHAT TO DO. Shinjuku station - East meets West. Exploring the east and west sides of Shinjuku station. Finding Godzilla, the Robot restaurant, a guy passed out, adult shop and much more!

Guys, I've decided that I'm going to take a more direct and honest approach with you, my viewers. And part of that real talk has to do with something most Youtubers are not that willing to talk about - money.
The thing with Youtube ad-revenue is that it's a complete joke, and the only way smaller channels can earn an income worth the time spent making videos is with lots of low quality content, or sponsored content. I dont wanna play that game. I want to make the best videos possible for you, my viewers, but making good videos takes a ton of time, effort and money.
Thus, I started Patreon to help with the costs of producing these videos. There's a few of costs like: travelling around Tokyo, entrance fees and the cost of my time (hundreds of hours scripting, shooting, editing).
A lot of my fellow YouTuber friends are using Patreon so that their audience can support them directly. I would LOVE to make working on this channel my full-time job, so If you feel that my content is worth it then please have a look at my Patreon page and help me grow Tokyo Drew. Let's make awesome vids together:

In 1634, during the Edo period, as the outer moat of the Edo Castle was built, a number of temples and shrines moved to the Yotsuya area on the western edge of Shinjuku. In 1698, Naitō-Shinjuku had developed as a new (shin) station (shuku or juku) on the Kōshū Kaidō, one of the major highways of that era. Naitō was the family name of a daimyo whose mansion stood in the area; his land is now a public park, the Shinjuku Gyoen.
In 1920, the town of Naitō-Shinjuku, which comprised large parts of present-day Shinjuku, parts of Nishi-Shinjuku and Kabukichō was integrated into Tokyo City. Shinjuku began to develop into its current form after the Great Kantō earthquake in 1923, since the seismically stable area largely escaped the devastation. Consequently, West Shinjuku is one of the few areas in Tokyo with many skyscrapers.
The Tokyo air raids from May to August 1945 destroyed almost 90% of the buildings in the area in and around Shinjuku Station.[6] The pre-war form of Shinjuku, and the rest of Tokyo, for that matter, was retained after the war because the roads and rails, damaged as they were, remained, and these formed the heart of the Shinjuku in the post-war construction. Only in Kabuki-cho was a grand reconstruction plan put into action.[7]
The present ward was established on March 15, 1947 with the merger of the former wards of Yotsuya, Ushigome, and Yodobashi. It served as part of the athletics 50 km walk and marathon course during the 1964 Summer Olympics.[8]
In 1991, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government moved from the Marunouchi district of Chiyoda to the current building in Shinjuku. (The Tokyo International Forum stands on the former site vacated by the government.)
