Currumbin on the gold coast is home to the currumbin wild life sanctuary which has many Australian animals. This is one of a few places where you can hold a koala bear and have a picture taken the also feed birds if you get there when it opens.Currmbin also has a beach and a lagoon and is popular with sail boarders.

A clip of one wave in Currumbin on the Gold Coast, Australia.
It's one of the lesser surfed spots, but there are lot more kids as it's close to the Currumbin High where all the big shots like Dingo, Mick and Joel came out of, so be prepared to see unknown kids blow your mind. The wave is really long at times, but because of the river, it opens up so fast that sometimes you get caught behind, like in my case here. Anyway, a great a wave that handles big surf too, that's where many big wave riders on the Gold Coast come to get waves when it's big as there's usually no crowds due to the huge currents.

21 years ago my parents came here for their honeymoon. 21 years later (today), they brought my sisters & I along to see this exciting city!
On 15th Dec, we spent the entire day at Movie World where papa took the scary rides and screamed at the top of his lungs!! And on 16th Dec, we went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and got up-close and personal with the kangaroos.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a heritage-listed zoological garden at 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin, Queensland, Australia. It was built in 1947 onwards. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 18 September 2009.

Living in Brisbane, it is so convenient to hop in the car and head down to the Gold Coast. Most summers my friends and I spend every weekend down that way soaking up the warm sun and relaxing on the varies beaches. This summer I made some new friends who took me to the local Currumbin Rockpools which is very inland without signage... (TIP: Google maps only takes you to the end of the stream if you follow the road it takes you all the way up to magnificent hidden waterfalls and natural waterslide) It was a nice day trip full of adventure and good company. It really reminded me to see new places and keep on roaming the unknown and trusting it'll all work out. Gold Coast has such diverse landscapes, from hinterlands to the coastline plus Surfers Paradise is Tourism Heaven, it is a very popular vacation spot for Australians because it has it all from great restaurants and bars to thrilling rides, shows and fun parklands for children.
March 4th to April 15th, 2018: Gold Coast and some areas in Brisbane are Hosting the Commonwealth Games! It's an exciting event for our area and I'm sure will showcase the beauty that is the Gold Coast. I'm a big Olympics and Commonwealth Games watcher but unfortunately I'm away in Thailand at the time it's airing. When I was six I went to Sydney Olympics and in 2006 Melbourne hosted the Commonwealth Games which my family and I watched a few of the events. I love the spirit and ceremonies highlighting the achievements in sport and unity the games hold for so many countries.
I really hope you enjoyed seeing a glimpse of what Gold Coast has to offer, I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself, it's sunny all year around! I forgot to get down to the Theme Parks but they are worthwhile.
