Sirpur is Situated in Mahasamund in the state of chhattisgarh

Sirpur is a small town, 84 kms away from Raipur. It is well known for its archaeological monuments. Situated on the bank of mahanadi, it has a rich background of traditional cultural heritage and architecture. The Laxman temple Anand Prabhu, Kuti Vhar, Swastik, Vihar and other historic mouments are the main attractions here for the visitors.

The archaeological remains of Sirpur still echo to Bhagwat, Param Maheshwar of Panduvansh and Tathagat albiet, most of the remains are considerably eroded now However, whatever little is left, is still a pride for this region. The first traces of ancient Sirpur were were found in the copper inscriptions of Sharabhpurya, Emperors Pravar Raj and Mahesudeo Raj, which divulged that they had donated the land of shripur. Since then, this place was established as a significant historic, cultural and political Centre. During the 57 year long rule of Mahashivgupt Balarjun, a number of temples, Buddha Vihars, ponds and gardens were constructed. The great scholar and traveller from China, Huien Tsang had visted Sirpur in the 7th century There were 100 Sangharams at the time in which some 10,000 followers of Mahayan community used to live Mahashivgupt Balarjun was himself a follower of ‘shaiva’ yet he patronised Buddha Vihar because of his generosity .

Sirpur remained a well-known centre of study and art due to its political stability and religious tolerance. After Mahashivgupt Balarjun, the political and cultural significance of sirpur started diminishing and the folden era of south kosal was soon over. Over the ages, the natural calamity took a heavy toll and most of the historic temles and vihars were devastated reducing them to heaps of clay and stone. In the archaeological splendour of Sirpur, Mahanadi and its green surroundings have also contributed tremendously.

The headquarter of the organization is at Udaipur city in the state of Rajasthan, India. The organization has a 1100 bedded hospitals where the patients around the country and abroad make way for their respective polio related treatment and corrective surgeries. Till date, the Top Charitable NGO has got successfully conducted more than 3,25,000 ‘free of cost’ polio corrective surgeries of people irrespective of their caste, creed, religion etc.

Kawariyas walk 105 km to reach Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar

More than one lakh Shiv bhakts or Kanwars walk 105Kms to reach the Baba Baidyanath Temple for the annual Shravani Mela in Jharkhand.

Millions of pilgrims visit this shrine every year. It is famous for the mela of Shraavana (a month of the Hindu calendar), between July and August. About 7 to 8 million devotees visit the place from various parts of India and offer holy water of Ganges to the deity collected from Sultanganj, which is almost 108 km from Deoghar and Baidyanath. The water is also brought by the Kānvarias, who carry the water in Kavadi, and walk all the distance, on bare foot. You will find large crowds walking all the way carrying water. An unbroken line of people in saffron-dyed clothes stretches over the full 108 km for the month. The pilgrims are called Dak Bam and they do not stop even once in their journey from Sultangunj, located at Bhagalpur district to Vaidyanath. Pilgrims to the temple later visit the Basukinath temple.

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.

According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site of the temple to get the boons that he later used to wreak havoc in the world. Ravana offered his ten heads one after another to Shiva as a sacrifice. Pleased with this, Shiva descended to cure Ravana who was injured. As he acted as a doctor, he is referred to as Vaidhya. From this aspect of Shiva, the temple derives its name.
