Amazing trail around Shey Phoksundo Lake in Dolpa region of Nepal.
Among many beautiful places in Nepal, Phoksundo Lake is considered one of the most beautiful and exotic tourist destinations located in Dolpo, the largest territorial district. Phoksundo Lake Trek is a short and easy journey to one of the most beautiful and deepest lakes of Nepal. Phoksundo is an alpine freshwater lake which is also considered sacred by the followers of Buddhist and Bon-po religions, making the trek an amazing mix of nature and culture.
The 11-day trip starts with your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. The trip to Phoksundo Lake continues next day with a flight to Nepalgunj which lies in the lowland of western Terai, just 8 km away from Indian Border. After a brief stay in Nepalgunj, we fly to Juphal, the starting point of our trek to Phoksundo Lake. The trekking trail ascends and descends through a densely forested path filled with oaks, pines, and fir trees with a view of several waterfalls along the way. The route also passes through several picturesque traditional villages like Dunai, Chhepka, Jharana Hotel, and Shyanta. The trekkers also come across the view of a magnificent 330m high waterfall. The area is also equally rich in wildlife which gives trekkers an opportunity to get sight of some endangered species like musk deer, snow leopard, blue sheep, Tibetan sheep, Himalayan tahr, and so on. A short stay at the mesmerizing Phoksundo Lake is bound to make you feel calm and peaceful as you relish the beauty of the lake along with the view of Kanjirowa Himal (6612m) accompanied by a visit to the various monasteries surrounding the lake.

Dolpo is the largest territorial district in Nepal. It is certainly one of the most beautiful and splendid place. The exotic sites and natural sceneries lures people all over the world , thus making it a must visit destination. Dolpo has been captured beautifully on film by the renowned director Eric Valli in his movie “Caravan”.
Dolpo’s Phoksundo Lake is regarded as one of the most scenic and beautiful natural tourist destination in Nepal. Mirroring the snowy Kanjiroba massif , the turquoise lake waters look heavenly. No wonder this lake is regarded sacred by Buddhists and followers of Bon-po religion.
The Phoksundo Teahouse Trek is Dolpo’s one and only teahouse trek. This trek is fairly easy as no high passes are involved. The trek starts from Juphal, where the only airstrip in Dolpo is located. The trail passes through wonderful Himalayan forests and picturesque traditional villages. The rivers and waterfalls on the trail are some of Nepal’s most magnificent. In addition to natural beauty, the trekking area also is rich in wildlife. One may get to see some endangered species like the snow leopard, musk deer, blue sheep, great Tibetan sheep, Himalayan tahr etc. Within the Shey Phoksundo National Park lies our destination Phoksundo Lake.

Islanders in Nepal - Part 1
KATHMANDU, NEPAL - Nepal is one of the world's poorest and least developed countries.
It is located between Tibet and India and is a country of highly diverse geography, culture and religions.
Since the late 1970's, trekkers have come to Nepal to explore the famed Annapurna Circuit.
For a time, the route was considered one of the best treks anywhere in the world.
And while construction may be threatening its reputation as a classic trek, the route offers some spectacular views.
In October, /A News reporter and anchor Erick Thompson and writer Erin Trainer joined a group of trekkers from Vancouver Island for a three week trek in Nepal.
In addition to hiking along the Annapurna Circuit, the group visited the world's highest lake (Lake Tilicho) and the mythical valleys of Nar and Phu.
The trip was organized by Robinson's Outdoor Store to celebrate the family-owned businesses 80th anniversary.
Store-owner Gayle Robinson enlisted the help of Quadra Island-based trekking guide Mick Bromley.
Bromley has led dozens of treks in various countries but Nepal remains his first love.

Nepal is located in the Asian Continent. This country has plenty of mountains, hills, and plains; this diverse nation is enriched with the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest, and other 8 peaks of 8000+ elevation; still, there are countless peaks, and all these factors make an one-hour mountain flight to Mt. Everest makes even more adventurous and exciting. It is indeed worth going on a mountain flight in Nepal.
This is one of the easiest ways to see world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8848 meters) from a very close range, because many tourists cannot trek to the base of Mt. Everest, so they take a flight or even fly for three hours in a helicopter, in order to reach the Everest Base Camp and enjoy the breath-taking scenery.
Such flight experiences can be re-told in memories to other people, friends and acquaintances, who ultimately can also come to Nepal and experience paradise on earth.
Due to these extreme touristy and adventurous factors, many foreign tourists as well as tourists from neighboring countries make Nepal their travel destination to experience the mountain flight. Almost every day, when the weather is clear, mountain flights are conducted at 06:30 to 10:00 a. m. for one hour. All the passengers are given a window seat. MASSIVE AVALANCHE IN NEPAL 2019 | Annapurna Circuit Ep. 5
We witnessed a massive avalanche in Nepal less than 10 minutes after leaving Upper Pissang on the Annapurna Circuit Trial. Seeing an avalanche in real life was one of the craziest things we've ever experienced. Luckily no one was hurt and there was no reported damage to any buildings. The mountain in this shot is Annapurna II. Our reaction to the avalanche will be in the next video.

Nepal: Flying over the mountains
As part of the 100 days in Himalayas project, for Shantanu Moitra and Dhritiman Mukherjee the whole feel of watching the mighty Himalayas from the top was the high-point of the entire expedition. As they explored Nepal from air, Shantanu discovered, at 8000 ft, that his Russian pilot loved the music of the movie ‘Parineeta’ for which Shatanu had composed. An elated fan, the pilot decided to give me a time of his life by spiraling down in an acrobatic landing! Those terrifying 11 seconds had him wishing he had never decided to turn composer, says Shantanu.
