Carpe Diem Editions: the story so far (Athens) - interview
Τον Οκτώβριο του 2017 το T.A.F ξεκίνησε τη συνεργασία του με τον πολιτιστικό οργανισμό Carpe Diem Art and Research στο πλαίσιο της έκθεσης Carpe Diem Editions: The Story so Far.
Το Carpe Diem Art and Research

In October 2017 T.A.F began its collaboration with the cultural institution Carpe Diem Art and Research in the framework of the exhibition Carpe Diem Editions: The Story so Far. The show opened on the 25th of October 2017.
The collaboration takes place under the thematic umbrella #building_bridges featured in t TAF exhibition program, aiming at building stable partnerships with cultural organisations and institutions in and outside Greece. Carpe Diem Art and Research is a centre for contemporary art and curatorial research. It is housed in Lisbon’s renovated sixteenth-century Palacio Pombal and during all these years of operation has presented multidisciplinary exhibitions and public programs, reinforcing the artistic life of the city.
Carpe Diem Editions are limited printed editions created by artists after their collaboration with Carpe Diem Art and Research. They came as a natural extension of the contemporary art center’s curatorial program. This initiative has developed into a new strong model of cultural sustainability.
The show Carpe Diem Editions:The Story so Far is an open discussion on and presentation of the artistic development in Portugal from 2008 onwards, during a period of several economic, political as well as social transformations in the country. The exhibition brings together more than 70 works by emerging and renowned Portuguese artists.

DON’T JUDGE A COVER BY ITS ARTIST, group show, The Art Foundation, Athens
T.A.F. / the art foundation presents the group show Don’t judge a cover by its artist. The show opens on Thursday the 26th of April 2018 at 20.30 and runs until the 20th of May.
The title of the exhibition is a manipulation of the idiom 'don’t judge a book by its cover', drawing on the interpretative versions and connotations of the word ‘cover’ (such as ‘book cover’ ‘shelter',’protection’ etc).
The exhibition focuses on the dialectics of the internal and external space; Cover is a protective space that can be real-tangible and, simultaneously, imaginary. Either as concept or form, the protective covering used to bind together the pages of a printed document (a book for, instance) becomes the starting point for the participating artists, exploring the various functions of protective spaces. In this light, the cover is sometimes approached as a field of intimacy, privacy or as outlet for the imagination. Elsewhere it becomes an ephemeral space to hide emotions or orgnanise thoughts. Last but not least, the cover constitutes the portrait of its own creator.
The exhibition brings together the recent work of visual artists and illustrators, featuring paintings, engravings and sculptural work.
Participating artists: Aristea Charoniti, Venia Dimitrakopoulou, Driokolaptis (Euripidis Papadopetrakis & Pantazi,s Tselios), Irini Karayannopoulou, Dimitrios Kasdaglis, Christos Kotsinis, Gabriel Pagonis, Konstantinos Papamichalopoulos, Stefanos Rokos, Lefteris Eleftheriou Tapas, Stratis Tavlaridis, Philippos Theodorides, Chrisa Valsamaki, Ino Varvariti

The Shakink Project
Shakink is a design project/ exhibition combining graphic design and cocktails! Twenty Greek creative agencies and freelancers designed their own posters from which metamatic:taf’s bartenders draw inspiration and created twenty different cocktails. Poster and cocktail share the same name and character. On event's opening Silk Bastards screen printed T-shirts with CU popup t-shirt bike, with patterns especially created for INK Project.Exhibition. Moreover, myfashionfruit and Luv&Roll | One love Tattoo Studio transfered their creations in two specially rearranged rooms, where people had the opportunity to see their goodies!
The event's atmosphere was Blues Rock.
