I traveled to Tanzania on this tour with Face of Africa Adventures and saw all these parks in this video in January of 2019 which is a good time. But When is the best time of the year for an African Safari, anyways?
We stayed at the FANAKA Safari Campsite and Lodge, right near Manyara National Park for 2 nights, in a bungalow. It was clean, comfortable and far superior to camping!
We stayed at the Kisura Serengeti Tented Camp in the Seronera region of Serengeti National Park for 2 nights. It was luxurious, and comfortable. They even had running hot water inside our tent and a flush toilet! Great food too! Excellent service by Maasai tribal staff. This tented safari camp was a highlight with a laughing hyena and other animals right outside our tent in the middle of the Serengeti Plains!
We also stayed for one night at the Rhino Lodge near Ngorongoro Crater. The food was probably the best here, and the bed was very very comfortable. There were elephants and African Buffalos in the yard, very very close.
The night before and after our safari, we stayed in the Green Mountain Hotel in Arusha which was very good too.
Face of Africa Adventures did a perfect job of hosting us in the best accommodations, and with excellent game drives every day. We would highly recommend getting a quote from them before you make any decisions on a safari. They seemingly take less profit and provide you with a better Tanzania safari experience than many, and we spoke to at least 20 companies before we settled on Face of Africa Adventures, based on price and quality.
DISCLOSURE: This company gave us a 5% discount for doing this video, we think, but we speak only the truth!

How To Plan Your Dream Luxury African Safari
Luxury is intimate natural encounters with Africa’s wildlife. This video explains how and why you can experience this on a luxury African safari.
Luxury is a pleasure obtained only rarely. On an African safari that doesn’t mean hyper-expensive lodges. It’s how close you get to the wildlife, how real and rare the experience can be. A luxury African safari means encountering wildlife in its own wild habitat. You are completely immersed, exploring with all your senses.

Non-hunting safaris protect wildlife -
This short safari movie gives you an idea of what luxury means when you travel in Africa. Including:
0:18 Walking with giraffe
0:26 Lions with a kill
0:40 Trumpeting elephants
1:13 Wildebeest migrating
2:11 African safari accommodation
Luxury African safaris are all about location. It’s about choosing the best destinations, then selecting the most wildlife-rich areas within that location. That’s usually a combination of national parks and private concessions. Some lodges and camps are on the outskirts of parks, away from wildlife. But some are in the middle of it all, surrounded by natural animal movements. So even when you’re not a safari activity, the safari experience continues.
Travel in Africa isn’t just about game drives. With a safari you can try out many different activities, meaning you are continually experiencing wildlife in a new way. Walking safaris and nighttime game drives are just two examples. When your lodge has a premium location the safari activity might simply be lying by the pool and waiting for elephants to walk past!
And the best part? Non-hunting safari protect and preserve wildlife. They help wildlife pay its way and keep the wilderness wild for future generations. Safaris are also a sustainable way to support and empower local communities who are at the front-line against poaching and hunting. By supporting them you turn poachers into protectors. So it’s not just the adventure of a lifetime – it’s a vacation that really makes a difference.
Heritage Africa specializes in non-hunting safaris. Our website will guide you through all the available options.

Our-Safari-experience-with-Makasa.m4v
Our clients Sjoerd, Karin, Meint and Carla made a movie from their safari experience with Makasa (makasatanzania.com).
With a 4WD safari vehicle equipped with a specially designed open panoramic roof (allowing you to stand in the vehicle to take pictures or to shoot video footage) they visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. They were accompanied by a highly skilled and experienced guide: Humphrey.
Lake Manyara National Park is one of those national parks that offer rich and diverse game viewing within a reasonably small area. From its thick ground water forest at the park entrance to its more arid acacia woodland in the south. It's one of the best areas for elephant viewing and close encounters are very common, the bird life here is also exceptional.
Serengeti National Park derives its name from the Masai word Siringitu meaning endless plain. The national park covers an area of 14800 square Kilometers most of which is grassy plains. These rich grass plains are a result of ash deposited by volcanic eruptions are home to 3 million animals. Within these grass plains the scattered kopjes act as a haven for animals from grass fires, predators and the heat.
Serengeti National Park is famous for its abundance of leopards, cheetahs, lions and other large cats, but Serengeti's reputation, first of all, is based on its famous migration. Approximately 1.5 million gnus, 200.000 zebras and 350.000 gazelles cover huge distances of up to 1900 kilometres twice a year to find enough water and fresh green grass to survive.
Ngorongoro is a unique crater known as a caldera. A caldera is the aftereffect of a volcanic collapse, an implosion rather than explosion, Ngorongoro was formed some two million years ago. Ecologically it covers an area of 8300 square Kilometers with varied terrain and altitudes. These variations result in diverse and distinct habitats from grassy plains to mountain forest. The Crater itself measures an average of 18 Kilometers in diameter and has an approximately 700 meter vertical drop. Apart from being home to 25000 large animals it forms part of what is known as the Serengeti-Ngorongoro-Masai Mara ecosystem. This ecosystem allows for the free movement of 1.5 million animals in their continuous search for green pastures known as the migration.
Nearly all the big wild animals can be seen in the crater. Apart from large herds of zebra and gnus the Ngorongoro is the scene for elephants, lions, hippopotamuses and in particular the black rhinoceros.

Hatari! - Trailer
Hatari! is Swahili for danger—and also the word for action, adventure and broad comedy in this two-fisted Howard Hawks effort. John Wayne stars as the head of a daring Tanganyka-based group which captures wild animals on behalf of the world's zoos. Hardy Kruger, Gérard Blain and Red Buttons are members of Wayne's men-only contingent, all of whom are reduced to jello when the curvaceous Elsa Martinelli enters the scene. In tried and true Howard Hawks fashion, Martinelli quickly becomes one of the guys, though Wayne apparently can't say two words to her without sparking an argument. The second half of this amazingly long (159 minute) film concerns the care and maintenance of a baby elephant, the barely credible finale is devoted to a comic pachyderm stampede down an urban African street, ending literally at the foot of Martinelli's bed. The other scene worth mentioning involves comedy-relief Red Buttons' efforts to create a fireworks-powered animal trap. Not to be taken seriously for a minute, Hatari is attractively packaged and neatly tied up with a danceable-pranceable theme song by Henry Mancini.
