The Megalithic T-Shaped Pillars and Round Towers of Menorca - Talati de Dalt
Subscribe here: Hugh Newman visits 'Talatí de Dalt' on the Balearic Island of Menorca with Neil McDonald of and a few megalithomaniacs in October 2016. The Talaiotic settlement was built around the 9th century BC but it could be much older. The complex consists of huge T-shaped pillars (Taula) in stone enclosures, that resemble the T-pillars of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey (but those date to over 12,000 years old, so there is no direct connection). Also, the Gobekli pillars are carved from a single stone. These Taula's are made of two stones. The site also has a cyclopean tower called a 'Talaiot' (similar to the Nuraghe Towers of Sardinia), plus caves and stone houses. This is one of about 15 sites on Menorca that have these mysterious T-shaped pillars. Legend states that these were the tables of the giants who used to eat food off them. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

The Taulas Of Menorca - KuriaTV
The taulas are ancient megaliths that stand on the Spanish island of Menorca, quite similar in appearance to the more famous Stonehenge.
While it is thought that the taulas were erected by the ancient inhabitants of the island at some point after 2000 B.C., there is no concrete evidence as to why the structures were built or why they are found only on Menorca and not on neighboring islands.Naturally, theories abound.
Some believe that the stones symbolized a temple of some sort. Waldemar Fenn, a German archaeologist, has pointed out that the taulas all faced south, leading him to speculate that they were erected as a religious monument to measure the movement of the moon. His theory became known as the Taula Moon Theory.
Unfortunately, Fenn’s theory could only be applied to 12 of the 13 intact taulas.
It did not match the megalith found on the northern side of the island.
The real reason for the taulas’ construction remains unknown.

Megalithic 'Boat Burial' & Cart Ruts in Ancient Menorca | Naveta d'Es Tudons | Megalithomania
Exploration of Naveta d'Es Tudons, a remarkable two levelled megalithic burial chamber, resembling an upturned boat dating from at least 1400 BC, although earlier dating has been found in the area. It also has what appears to be cart ruts leading to the site, like those found in Malta. Legends of giants are found here saying they may have constructed the site.

Menorca- Island of Mystery | Mysterious Places with Salvatore Michael Trento
Menorca is a tiny island in the western Mediterranean, and it's filled with ancient stone ruins. We'll be examining some of the more bizarre, strange, unusual, and gigantic stone ruins, getting drone shots of them, and trying to come up with an idea as to what in the world were they doing with these structures.
Salvatore Michael Trento, a graduate of Oxford University, did his early work on the Spanish Balearic Islands. There he helped excavate 3000-year-old megalithic monuments. He also assisted the National Geographic Society on Majorca and Menorca for a magazine story on the mysterious ruins scattered about those islands.
Trento has appeared on the Fox television show Sightings where he detailed a 5,000-year-old stone ruin in central Massachusetts. His work has been featured in Backpacker Magazine, Cosmopolitan, USA Today, The New York Press, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Examiner, The Denver Post, and elsewhere.

Megalithomania in Menorca: The Naveta Oriental de Biniac L’Argentina
A Naveta is a megalithic chambered tomb unique to the Balearic island of Menorca. It dates to the early Bronze Age. Hugh Newman explores the site with Neil McDonald of and a few megalithomaniacs in October 2016. It has two vertical and two corbelled walls giving it the form of an upturned boat which is where the name comes from. The largest example is the Naveta d'Es Tudons. This one is accessed from the main road of Mahón to Ciudadela de Menorca and is within a zoo, but they let you in to take a look. It dates to around 1500 BC and was part of the Taliotic culture of Menorca. See video about the great 'Taula' T-Pillars here:
