In this episode; With KC and Lisa, after waiting out a day of bad weather in Sapodilla Lagoon we navigate Saltair3 through the turquoise blue but shallow and complicated waters out to paradise. About 30 miles from Placencia, out near the barrier reef is a gorgeous but small Caye known as South Water Caye. White sand beach, crystal clear waters that let you see straight to the coral sea floor and an area full of amazing sea life.

A team of six Belizean professionals in the culinary industry competed over the past three days in the regional Taste of the Caribbean Competition held in Miami, Florida. The Belize Tourism Board pooled together the likes of Sean Kuylen, Eva Longsworth, Robert Pronk among others to battle in several categories including master and junior chefs, pastry as well as bartending. They went up against fifteen countries for three grueling days. But in the end, the unique fusion of spices authentic to Belize excited the taste buds of the judges. Today, they returned home with the overall silver medal, while four members of the team won bronze in their individual categories. The last time Belize competed in the regional culinary competition was fifteen years ago. The media caught up with the team as they touched down at the P.G.I.A.

It's time to rediscover Belize. Long known as a premier destination among scuba divers around the world, this small Central American nation has grown into its own. It is bordered by Mexico to the north, Guatemala to the south and west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east. Culturally, the country's identity is both Caribbean and Central American. Big Five's nonprofit arm, Spirit of Big Five Foundation, supports Southern Environmental Association, a community conservation organization aimed at protecting one of the largest barrier reef systems in the world. Belize has also given rise to some world class resorts. Although Kriol and Spanish are widely spoken, Belize is the only country in Central America where English is the official language. The combination of natural and man-made assets, including 127 offshore islands, excellent fishing, rivers for rafting, jungle, traditional villages and wildlife reserves, all add up to an irresistible destination.
