Our friends took us out for a morning on Tauranga Harbour to do some fishing. We saw more than we expected!! Apologies for the shaky footage. I was excited and I forgot to turn the image stabiliser on... rookie mistake!

The University of Waikato’s Coastal Marine Field Station was established in December 2011 in Sulphur Point, Tauranga – the heart of the Bay of Plenty’s thriving marine industry.
As part of the University’s Environmental Research Institute, the Coastal Marine Field Station is involved in teaching, environmental monitoring and coastal and marine research and discovery. It has become a major centre of marine research excellence in the Bay of Plenty region.

Easter 2015 slipped over for a wedding..but the icing sugar was the opportunity to get out on Neil's boat a Searay Sundancer 270... which means that the waterline is 27' but its actually around 31' long and quite beamy.. nice boat powered by a 7.4l MPI Mercruiser.. running out to a Bravo three leg.. (duo Prop).. uses around the 52lph or a touch over 3.2l/naut mile at 22 knots cruise.. top speed around the 35knot mark I think..but has all the bells and whistles..
