Neobvyklá stavba vznikla v letech 1900 - 1901 na popud Heinricha Liebiega, stavitelem byl architekt Schmitz. Výšina byla určena zejména turistům a výletníkům jako místo odpočinku a občerstvení, sloužit ovšem měla i jako rozhledna. Pozoruhodný je především půvabný starobylý vzhled budovy, který získala díky jednoduchému triku stavitelů. Na její zbudování se totiž použily kamenné kvádry ze zbořených středověkých domů z Norimberku. Samotná stavba prožila bouřlivé časy, postupem času chátrala, až musela být zavřena. V současné době naštěstí získala nájemce, který na sebe převzal i závazek opětovně zpřístupnit Libereckou výšinu turistům.

Dieses Ungewöhnliche Gebäude entstand in den Jahren 1901 - 1902 auf Anregung von Heinrich Liebig. Bauherr war der Architekt Schmitz. Die Heinrichshöhe (Výšina) war insbesondere für Touristen und Ausflügler als Ort zur Erholung und Erfrischung gedacht, sollte aber auch als Aussichtsturm dienen. Bemerkenswert ist vor allem das wunderbar altertümliche Aussehen des Gebäudes, das es durch einen einfachen Trick des Bauherren erhielt. Beim Bau wurden nämlich Steinblöcke abgerissener mittelalterlicher Häuser aus Nürnberg verwendet. Das Gebäude selbst durchlebte stürmische Zeiten und verfiel langsam, bis es geschlossen werden musste. Glücklicherweise fand das Objekt aber wieder einen Mieter, der sich der Auflage unterzog, das Gebäude der Liberecer Öffentlichkeit wieder zugänglich zu machen.

This unusual edifice was built by the architect Schmitz in 1900-01 at the request of Heinrich Liebieg. The building of Výšina was intended mainly for tourists and walkers as a place of refreshment as well as a viewing tower. This building is also interesting for its charming age-old look, which was created by a simple trick of its builders - they used stone blocks from demolished mediaeval houses in Nuremberg. The building itself went through stormy times; it decayed as time went by and in the end it had to be closed. Luckily, at present it has found a sponsor who has shouldered the responsibility of re-opening the building to tourists.

Ta niezwykła budowla powstała w latach 1900 - 1901 z inicjatywy Heinricha Liebiega, budowniczym był architekt Schmitz. Wzgórze służyło głównie turystom i wycieczkowiczom jako miejsce do odpoczynku i spożycia posiłku, służyć miało również i jako wieża obserwacyjna. Na uwagę zasługuje przede wszystkim uroczy starodawny wygląd budowli, który otrzymała dzięki prostemu triku budowniczych. Przy jej budowaniu użyto kamienne ciosane bloki ze zburzonych średniowiecznych domów z Norimberku. Sama budowla przeżyła burzliwe czasy, stopniowo rozpadała się, aż musiała dojść do jej zamknięcia. Na szczęście obecnie jest w rękach dzierżawcy, który zobowiązał się znowu udostępnić Libereckie wzgórze turystom.

As part of the TBEX Europe 2018 Blogger Conference we had the chance to take a FAM trip with some of the tourism boards in the Czech Republic. This was my five day/four night tour to the Liberec region.
Despite being the second smallest region in the Czech Republic, Liberec region is well known for local glass and jewelry, romantic scenery provided by rock town and a mountain range. The Liberec Region lies in the north of the Czech Republic boarding Poland and Germany.

From Prague to Liberec Trip
My trip from Prague to Liberec to visit my family
Castle Frydlant, Ples Sanatorium, Dvorak's Museum
In 2006 we have seen more castles in the Czech Republic: Frydlant, Hejnice, Breznice including churches in Hejnice and Rozmital. With our friends from school we visited also Dvorak's Museum.This may be a blasphemy considering that the background music of this video is Smetana's Tabor. Famous Czech composers Dvorak and Smetana were implacable rivals in the 19th century.
Na naší cestě kolem Čech jsme díky přátelům ze školy ještě navštívili zámek Frýdlant, kostel a zámek v Hejnicích, zámek Březnice a kouzelný kostelík v Rožmitále pod Střemšínem. Video má hudební doprovod ze Smetanova Tábora, což je asi rouhání, když tady ukazuji Dvořákovo muzeum.

LIBEREC is a city in the Czech Republic. Located on the Lusatian Neisse and surrounded by the Jizera Mountains and Ještěd-Kozákov Ridge, it is the fifth-largest city in the Czech Republic.
Settled by German and Flemish migrants since the 14th century until their expulsion after World War II, Liberec was once home to a thriving textile industry and hence nicknamed the Manchester of Bohemia. For many Czechs, Liberec is mostly associated with the city's dominant Ještěd Tower. Since the end of the 19th century, the city has been a conurbation with the suburb of Vratislavice and the neighboring town of Jablonec nad Nisou. Therefore the total area with suburbs encompasses 150,000 inhabitants. This makes Liberec the third-largest city (with suburbs) in Bohemia after Prague and Pilsen.Liberec was first mentioned in a document from 1348, and from 1622 to 1634 was among the possessions of Albrecht von Wallenstein. After his death it belonged to the Gallas and Clam Gallas families. The cloth-making industry was introduced in 1579. The prosperous local industry was interrupted by the Thirty Years' War and a great plague in the 1680s. The Battle of Reichenberg between Austria and Prussia occurred nearby in 1757 during the Seven Years' War.Until 1918, the town was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austrian side after the compromise of 1867), seat of the Reichenberg district, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.
At one time the second city of Bohemia,the city developed rapidly at the end of the 19th century and as a result has a spectacular collection of late 19th century buildings; the town hall, the opera house, and the Severočeské Muzeum (North Bohemian Museum) are of significant note. The Opera House has a spectacular main curtain that was designed by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. The neighborhoods on the hills above the town center display beautiful homes and streets, laid out in a picturesque Romantic style similar to some central European thermal spas.After the end of World War I Austria-Hungary fell apart. The Czechs of Bohemia joined newly established Czechoslovakia on the 29th of October 1918, while the Germans joined German Austria on the 12th of November 1918, both citing Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points and the doctrine of self-determination.
LIBEREC -- miasto w północnych Czechach nad Nysą Łużycką, stolica kraju libereckiego, położony u podnóża Ještěda. Ośrodek sportów zimowych. Jest to 6 pod względem wielkości miasto w Czechach. W 1577 roku otrzymało prawa miejskie. Liberec zamieszkany jest przez 97 400 osób (2005).Przed I wojną światową, w okresie międzywojennym i w czasie II wojny światowej zamieszkiwany głównie przez Niemców sudeckich. Po I wojnie światowej stolica prowincji Niemieckie Czechy . W czasie II wojny stolica Okręgu III Rzeszy Kraj Sudetów.Miasto leży w północnych Czechach, w Sudetach Zachodnich, w Kotlinie Żytawskiej, która jest odpowiednikiem Obniżenia Żytawsko-Zgorzeleckiego, w Liberecké kotlině, pomiędzy Górami Izerskimi na północy a Grzbietem Jesztiedzkim na południu. Ratusz leży na wysokości 374 m n.p.m.. Najniższy punkt w granicach miasta znajduje się w części zwanej Machnín - 325 m n.p.m., a najwyższy na szczycie Ještědu - 1012 m n.p.m. Przez miasto przepływa Nysa Łużycka oraz jej dopływy - Černá Nisa i Harcovský potok
Zabytki:
-Stary Zamek (XVI w.), zbudowany w stylu renesansowym w latach 1583-1587, następnie wielokrotnie przebudowywany. Wyróżnia się kaplica z kasetonowym stropem i oratorium podpartym przez pięć kolumn toskańskich.
-Nowy Zamek (XVIII w.),
-Ratusz (XIX w.), zbudowany w stylu neorenesansowym, na podstawie projektu Franza Neumanna w latach 1888-1893.
Liberec jest dość chętnie odwiedzanym miastem przez osoby poszukujące aktywnego wypoczynku. Oprócz kompleksu narciarskiego, bardzo popularne są dwa Aqua Parki. Skromniejszy i tańszy Bazen Liberec i droższy, ale bardziej rozbudowany, będący częścią kompleksu hotelowego i rozrywkowego Centrum Babylon Liberec, co dzień przyciągają setki gości z Czech, Polski, oraz Niemiec..

In Reichenberg, tschechisch Liberec, steht ein sehr schönes Rathaus im Stil der Neo-Renaissance. Es hat eine wunderschöne Fassade und sieht auch Innen wunderbar aus. Auf dem Platz vor dem Rathaus steht ein Springbrunnen. Auf der Säule im Brunnenbecken steht auf einem Delphin der römische Gott Neptun. Es ist eine schöne Stadt.
