teli ka mandir is located within Gwalior fort in Madhya Pradesh . in India dedicated to the god Vishnu .it has been dated to between the 8th and11th centuries AD it is both the lofiest and oldest surviving structure within the fort.
Etymology[
Probably meaning the Oilman's Temple, the etymology of the temple's name has several contending theories. One theory holds that the temple was built by members of the Teli community of oil merchants during the reign of the Pratihara king Mihirabhoja during the 8th or 9th century AD It is also thought to have derived its name from the Telang Brahmins who were charged with presiding over all religious ceremonies after the fort was captured by a Rashtrakuta king in the 8th Another theory holds that it has been named after the Telangana region of southern India owing to its evident Dravidian influence
History
Teli ka Mandir is thought to have been built circa 850 AD during the reign of the Pratihara king Mihira Bhoja Following the Revolt of 1857, the British used the temple as a soda factory. Between 1881 and 1883, repairs to the temple were initiated by Major Keith, an officer of the Royal Scots Regiment stationed in Gwalior.
Architecture
Teli ka Mandir combines the Nagara and Dravida styles of architecture and shows influences of Buddhist architecture. The temple has a rectangular plan and is mounted by a barrel vault with the walls containing empty niches surmounted by tall pediments. The oblong, vaulted roof derives from the influence of Buddhist chaitya architecture and bears resemblance to the Vaital Deul in Bhubaneshwar
The temple has been dedicated to the Pratihara Vishnu. James Fergusson has opined that the Teli ka Mandir while originally a Vishnu temple was later converted into a Shiva temple The temple's Valabhi shikhara mirrors the gopuram of Dravidian temples and it stands on a Nagara baseThe temple's outer walls have been extensively carved and contain several excellent sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses. #darshanchannel

Teli temple, also known as Teli ka mandir is a hindu temple located within the gwalior fort in gwalior,M.p.
It is dedicated to Vishnu, Shuva and Matrika, it has been variously dated between the early 8th and early 9th century.It is an unusual Hindu temple, as it has a rectangular sanctum instead of the typical square. It integrates the architectural elements of the Nagara style and the Valabhi prasada that looks like the Dravidian wagon-vault topped gopuram superstructure. The temple is based on a Pratihara-Gopagiri style North Indian architecture.

ग्वालियर के किले के परिसर का सबसे पुराना स्मारक है। इसका निर्माण 11 वीं या 8 वीं शताब्दी में हुआ था। तेली का मंदिर पहले विष्णु का मंदिर था जो बाद में भगवान शिव का मंदिर बन गया। मंदिर के अंदर देवियों, साँपों, प्रेमी युगलों और गरुड़ की मूर्तियाँ हैं।
तेली का मंदिर ग्वालियर किले में स्थित है। इसे तेल के आदमी का मंदिर कहा जाता है। यह एक बहुत बड़ी संरचना है जिसकी ऊंचाई 100 फुट है। इसकी छत की वास्तुकला द्राविड़ीयन शैली की है जबकि नक्काशियां और मूर्तियाँ उत्तर भारतीय शैली की हैं। इसकी वास्तुशैली हिंदू और बौद्ध वास्तुकला का सम्मिश्रण है।

Teli Ki Sarai, Handia (M. P.)
Teli Ki Sarai is situated about 2 km south of Handia towards Kheda route. Handia is a Village in Harda District of Madhya Pradesh State, India. About 101 rectangular rooms are built around this monuments of the 16th-17th century A.D. in which some are incomplete. There exists a step-well in the middle portion of the monument. The architecture suggests that it might have been used as a military cantonment, as in Mughal period the place being situated at Handia, had considerable strategic importance. This is a fine example of Mughal architecture. There is a minaret on both sides of the stone built entrance to the monument. There are peep-holes on the wall of the upper portion. The entrance has a niche on both
sides. The second gate is mutilated.

Teli ka Mandir, also known as Telika Temple, is a Hindu temple located within the Gwalior Fort in Madhya Pradesh, India. Dedicated to Vishnu, Shiva and Matrikas, it has been variously dated between the early 8th and early 9th century CE.
It is an unusual Hindu temple, as it has a rectangular sanctum instead of the typical square. It integrates the architectural elements of the Nagara style and the Valabhi prasada that looks like the Dravidian wagon-vault topped gopuram superstructure. The temple is based on a Pratihara-Gopagiri style North Indian architecture.
The temple is a classic example of a design based on musical harmonics in architecture, one that Hermann Goetz called as a masterpiece of late Gupta era Indian art.(wikipedia)
