The City of San Antonio, Texas (The Alamo) 2019
San Antonio, officially the City of San Antonio, is the seventh-most populous city in the United States, and the second-most populous city in both Texas and the Southern United States, with more than 1.5 million residents. Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city became the first chartered civil settlement in present-day Texas in 1731. The area was still part of the Spanish Empire, and later of the Mexican Republic. Today it is the state's oldest municipality.

2019.03.14 - The Alamo [San Antonio, Texas, United States of America]
DATA: 14 martie 2019

Remember the Alamo San Antonio Texas HD
I visited the Alamo and found it very interesting. The story of the Alamo had always been a historical one for me but after seeing the location and artifacts for myself it became very human.
From Feb.-23rd to Mar.6th 1836 some 1500 Mexican
troops led by General Santa Anna battled some 200 Texian and Tejano volunteers led by Colonel William Travis and Jim Bowie. Though the volunteers caused great injury to the Mexicans eventually they all fell in battle including Congressman Davy Crockett.

The Alamo San Antonio
The 18th-century mission church where Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and 188 others waged their last stand against the Mexican army for Texas independence has become a state symbol. The most famous historical site in Texas, the mission has been restored to its original condition and offers tours, relics of the past, and a gift shop with memorabilia for history enthusiasts.

The Alamo In San Antonio TX - Site Of The Famous Battle For Texas Independence
The Alamo in downtown San Antonio Texas is the site of the famous battle on March 2, 1836 that symbolizes the Texas Revolution against Mexico that eventually resulted in independence.
Although almost 200 greatly outnumbered defenders of the Alamo died in the battle against the troops of Mexican president and general Santa Ana, their determination inspired the battle cry Remember the Alamo, which has become legendary in Texas and American history.
The iconic structure that everyone recognizes is just a small part of the actual battlefield. It was originally named Mission San Antonio de Valero, and served as home to missionaries and their Indian converts for nearly seventy years. The current Alamo complex, including the familiar facade and structure that used to serve as a mission church, covers 4.2 acres of ground in downtown San Antonio.
Approximately 2.5 million tourists visit the Alamo each year. Admission is free, and it is definitely one of the most interesting places to go and things to see not just in San Antonio, but in all of Texas.
The Alamo is the centerpiece of San Antonio's booming downtown tourist complex, which also includes the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, La Villita (the Little Village) and the Rivercenter Mall.
I also have a YouTube video focusing on the Cenotaph, the memorial dedicated to the Alamo defenders. Click on

YOU FEEL A HEAVINESS HERE ???? The Alamo San Antonio, Texas ???? Full Time RV Living This is part 2 to our adventure exploring San Antonio, Texas. We checked out the river walk and had enough time and enough day light to check out the Alamo. They don't allow photography or videography in the Mission but we were able to capture the courtyard and the surrounding areas.
Josh is a huge history buff so things like this really intrigue him and he loves to share what he has learned on his visit. The Alamo is a pinnacle point when the US fought to keep Texas. The battle at the Alamo was a bloody one and no one survived the 90 minute battle. Women, children and a slave were let go. But the odds weren't in our favor when defending the Alamo. It was 30 men to one when the battle took place and the Mexican President took no mercy.

Finally made it to the Alamo and Riverwalk
What's going on everybody Rob here would little video I shot in San Antonio Texas. We drove from our hotel which was the Holiday Inn Lake eight minutes to the Alamo area. We pay $10 to park the car for the whole day but we had to find our way to the Alamo and to the Riverwalk. Someone told us if you find the street with all the tourist traps that Alamo will be right across the street. I'll be damned they were right. Right across the street from the Alamo are wax museums Ripley's believe it or not in some other touristy stuff. If you cut through walkway directly across from the Alamo and go down the stairs it will lead you directly to the San Antonio Riverwalk. The Riverwalk actually appears smaller than you would think but there is a ton of walking if you plan on walking the Riverwalk. In my next video show a little bit more of the Alamo end of the Riverwalk.
Thanks for watching,

THE ALAMO SAN ANTONIO TEXAS / THE MISSION SAN JOSE
OMG The Alamo and missions san jose (TMFA trip 3)
this is just my walk threw of the alamo ..my video documentary.
The Alamo Mission in San Antonio, commonly called the Alamo and originally known as Misión San Antonio de Valero, is part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site in San Antonio, Texas, United States.
San Jose missions-In 1720, Fray Antonio Margil de Jesús founded what became the best known of the Texas Missions, San José y San Miguel de Aguayo. Viewed as a model of Mission organization, Mission San José was a major social center. The unique architecture of its church and the richness of its fields and pastures led visitors to comment on its beauty. The size of the complex bears witness to San José’s reputation as the “Queen of the Missions.”
Mission San José was moved twice from its original site until it was finally built at its present location, set back from the temperamental river to a place on a small rise. At this time, it entered into a period of great achievement. Mission San José became the showplace of the Southwest.
The present church of Mission San José was begun in 1758 with the cornerstone laid by Governor Don Hugo Oconor and Gaspar José Solis, a Franciscan inspector. It was not completed until 1782 but became “the most beautiful church along the entire frontier of New Spain.
