【4K】Walking in Arashiyama, Kyoto - Kameyama park and bamboo groove
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
As promised I went to Kyoto, unfortunately taifun came same weekend. I spent whole day soaking in the rain and took several videos but because of multiple problems I decided to go home same day. Osaka and Nara will be some other weekend.

Bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kyoto
My friend, Imosan and I, discovered this bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kyoto. It was one of the most amazingly simple and beautiful places I've ever stumbled upon. As peaceful as it appears in the video, of course, it was nothing compared to the experience in person. I'm glad that it had set the tone to the beginning of 2010 for me. I would rather be no where else, than Kyoto to start off my year.
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto, Japan
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto, Japan.
The bamboo in this forest in Kyoto, Japan reaches far up into the sky. There are thousands of individual bamboo, making it feel like you took a time machine back into ancient Japan, and you're a samurai (with your umbrella).
Places to look for here are the monkey park, the summit with incredible views, the river where you can take a boat, and the many hidden shrines and rock sculptures. All of this secluded within the bamboo forest, or bamboo grove, gracefully welcoming you to visit. All within a short few minute train ride from Kyoto, Japan.

Kyoto's Famous Bamboo Forest and Monkey Park. Caution: TONS OF HIKING ♡ Japan Vlog
Everyone who visits Kyoto, no matter how short their stay, will and must go check out the famous bamboo forest. It's incredibly beautiful and peaceful (even if there is thousands of other tourists with you). Just a short walk and ridiculously surprisingly rough hike away is Arashiyama Monkey Park, where you can feed the monkeys and watch them live their best lives.

Bamboo forest in Kyoto (京都嵯峨野竹林) - Exploring Japan with Wageofsins!
Today we take a walk through Arashiyama in Kyoto to see the beautiful Sagano bamboo forest (京都嵯峨野竹林). This long winding grove of bamboo trees isolates you from the rest of the city as you explore several paths, including shrines and rickshaw rides! You'll find many people walking around in traditional kimono or yukata as it's very a picturesque location for photos. There's also a train you can take right into the heart of it, without disturbing the atmosphere. I recommend the Sagano bamboo forest if you're looking for a peaceful walk through nature and a very traditional experience.

Sagano Bamboo Forest
Our first full day in Koyoto we went to go see the beautiful Bamboo Forest in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. It's easily one of the most beautiful groves I've ever seen. The Ichitanimunakata Shrine is also there. It was a nice downhill walk to the Katsura river.
In the Bamboo Forest in Kyoto
While walking in the Bamboo forest in Kyoto, I was blessed to hear this sound coming from the midpoint of the trail. Please listen to this talented Japanese musician play his hangdrum in the middle of a forest of bamboo. Koji Kose or cojicose on Facebook if you want to see more of him.

Walk in the bamboo forest of Arashiyama
Walking through entire bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan
I know I said the name wrong. It's Arashiyama.

Sagano Bamboo Forest Arashiyama near Kyoto, Japan
Text from Amusing Planet:
The Sagano Bamboo Forest is located to the northwest in Kyoto Basin, Japan, covering an area of 16 square kilometers. It is one of the most beautiful natural environment in entire Japan, not only because of its natural beauty but also because of the sound the wind makes as it blows through the thick bamboo grove.
The sound of the wind in this bamboo forest has been voted as one of one hundred must-be-preserved sounds of Japan by the Japanese government. Back in the 1870s when Edison was looking for a good bamboo as a material of a filament for his early light bulb, the governor of Kyoto recommended two sources for bamboo, this being one of them. Edison used the other one.
This forest I also recommend to everybody who visits Kyoto and its surroundings.
