Honolulu - U.S. state of Hawaii
See the best accommodations Honolulu is the state capital and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Hawaii.[a] It is the county seat of the City and County of Honolulu. Hawaii is a major tourist destination and Honolulu, situated on the island of Oahu, is the main gateway to Hawaii and a major gateway into the United States. The city is also a major hub for international business, military defense, as well as famously being host to a diverse variety of east-west and Pacific culture, cuisine, and traditions.
Honolulu is both the westernmost and the southernmost major American city. For statistical purposes, the U.S. Census Bureau recognizes the approximate area commonly referred to as City of Honolulu (not to be confused with the City and County) as a census county division (CCD). Honolulu is a major financial center of the islands and of the Pacific Ocean. The population of Honolulu CCD was 390,738 at the 2010 census, while the population of the consolidated city and county was 953,207.
In the Hawaiian, Honolulu means sheltered bay or place of shelter[citation needed]; alternatively, it means calm port. The old name is said to be Kou, a district roughly encompassing the area from Nuuanu Avenue to Alakea Street and from Hotel Street to Queen Street which is the heart of the present downtown district. The city has been the capital of the Hawaiian islands since 1845 and gained historical recognition following the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan near the city on December 7, 1941.

Perhaps one of the most visited cities in Hawaii is Honolulu. As the main metropolis on Oahu, this city is close to some of Hawaii's most luxurious beaches and notable attractions.
The island of Oahu has a coastline of about 112 miles (180 km). Oahu beaches are diverse and there is something for everyone – there are many great beaches for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayaking and relaxing. Most beaches on Oahu are sandy, and some have an offshore coral reef. A few beaches have little or no sand but are nevertheless popular, such as Shark's Cove, an excellent snorkeling and diving spot in the summer months. Beach sand in Hawaii comes in all kinds of shapes and colors.

Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - gateway to Hawaii
Honolulu is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is an unincorporated part of and the county seat of the City and County of Honolulu on the island of Oahu. The city is the main gateway to Hawaii and a major portal into the United States. The city is also a major hub for international business, military defense, as well as famously being host to a diverse variety of east-west and Pacific culture, cuisine, and traditions.
Honolulu is the most remote city of its size in the world and is both the westernmost and the southernmost major U.S. city. Honolulu is a major financial center of the islands and of the Pacific Ocean.
Honolulu means sheltered harbor or calm port.
As of 2015, Honolulu was ranked high on world livability rankings, and was also ranked as the 2nd safest city in the U.S. It is also the most populated Oceanian city outside Australasia and ranks second only to Auckland as the most populous city in Polynesia.
The Waikiki neighborhood is its center for dining, nightlife and shopping, famed for its iconic crescent beach backed by palms and high-rise hotels, with volcanic Diamond Head crater looming in the distance.
[Hawaii] Honolulu Police Motorcade For US Senator Akaka - Motorbikes & Police Car
Captured here is a large motorcade of the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), including several BMW motorbikes and a Toyota patrol car. Honolulu Police were seen escorting the late senator Daniel Akaka, who died on April 6th 2018, at the age of 93. Senator Akaka was the first Hawaiian of native descent to represent the senate, and enjoyed much support in his home state. A celebration of life was held on Saturday May 19th at Kawaiahao Church in downtown Honolulu after the senators body lied in state at the capitol for 24 hours, and was then escorted away by police in preparation for the funeral. Out of respect for the deceased and his family I avoided filming the celebration or the hearse, and waited several days to upload this video. As always the focus should be on the emergency vehicles.
