Durham Brewery Temptation
Ale Degustation presents Russian Imperial Stout from England: Durham Brewery Temptation
Brewed by: Durham Brewery Ltd
Crystal malt, amber malt, black malt and roast barley in generous quantities generate a deep black colour and flavours to match. Roast bitterness, coffee and liquorice notes combine in a velvety rich malt texture. A full and sweetish body is balanced by traditional Goldings hops.

A big dark, crisp, roast character is built by 8 different malts. Oat, Black, Roast Barley and Rye mingle together to give a clean fresh, smokey roast character. Surprisingly easy to drink, bitter malts and all English hops are well balanced and give the impression of dryness, which is deceptive against the background fullness.

Carlos Kolenda is a violinist and guitarist from Margarita Island, Venezuela. He is a famous live and television performer in his home country and performs a variety of styles including jazz, fusion, rock and club music. He traveled all the way from the south Caribbean to visit the Electric Violin Shop in Durham, NC. Once here, he test-drove several makes from our wide selection of electric violins, ultimately selecting a Ted Brewer Vivo2.
Since his visit included an overnight stay in a nearby hotel, Carlos was able to accompany Electric Violin Shop luthier Paulo Lopes to his regular gig at Brightleaf Square in downtown Durham. The two joined forces in an impromptu performance of some of Paulo's favorite Brazilian songs, with Carlos providing some amazing fills and solos. Paulo later described Carlos' as an incredible improviser with an uncanny ability to respond to and even anticipate what his fellow musicians are doing.

A good robust bitter. Some crystal malt gives a slight golden colour while a dry rich hoppy bitterness makes for a refreshing experience.

This striking and original beer is surprisingly easy to quaff. Three grades of crystal malt make a ruby/tawny colour and a body of dark toffee and a delicate finish of liquorice and ornage. Food match: Lamb kofta.

Whitby Brewery Whitby Whaler
The Ale Degustation presents review of Whitby Brewery Whitby Whaler. Previously known as Conquest Whaler.
A fruity bitter with a malty, citrus flavour and a not too intense bitter finish. The combination of both East Kent and Styrian Golding hops give Whitby Whaler a pleasantly fruity full flavour. This beer should be quaffed heartily.
New plans for Spennymoor's Festival Walk
Festival Walk, located at the heart of Spennymoor town centre, is set to be redeveloped as part of ongoing regeneration work across County Durham.
The previous owners of the site went into administration in 2017 and in that time Durham County Council has been working with Cordatus, the site's managing agent, to identify a main retailer for the area.
The plans now being unveiled will see much of the Festival Walk parade, and the adjacent former Kingfisher Public House and its surrounding car parking area redeveloped.

Full bodied Maris Otter malt with a small addition of wheat and Vienna malt are aromatised by a typical Belgian charge of coriander. The result is a smooth, sweetish, luscious and fruity experience. The peach and orange notes of the malt base are enhanced by the judicious use of a single American hop, centennial. A very satisfying beer with a Belgian character.
