Amazing dolphin encounter at Infanta, South Africa!!
We found a pod of dolphins playing around with large fish (cob) on the ocean offshore at Cape Infanta, South Africa. There objective seemed to have been to more play around with the fish than to feed on it. Some of the cob they where playing around with where very large, over 10kg. They even left some cob for us on the surface to snatch up! Was an day that we will remember for the rest of our lives!

The hard shell water turtle as I know it live in the warm regions of South Africa. I have caught 3 to 5 every time I go fish with chicken hearts for cats and so I decided to use some chicken liver and just caught this one and a lot of cats. Remember when you have caught a hard shell, don't handle with HANDS.... USE GLOVES.... As these turtles stink a lot and have very sharp mouth USE PLIERS TO REMOVE HOOK or you could have one finger less........ Be careful when releasing the turtle in to the water....... Have a fun and safe fishing trip.......

Tibbie the Cape Grysbokkie
A rare female Cape Grysbok (Kaapse Grysbok) handreared, now 6 months old, playing with my wife. Tibbie lives in our garden, and sometimes sleeps inside our Bar. She uses a sandbox for her toiletry needs,and only the sandbox, just like a cat. She loves Rooikrans leaves, seeds, dried fruit, Nuts, and also digs into Simba chips for her salt diet!

A BRITISH safari guide has been hospitalised after a leopard attacked him in the open-top jeep he was travelling in. Curtis Plumb, 38, was bitten and clawed in the arm after the predator launched itself at his vehicle in Kruger National Park, South Africa. The mauling just after 1pm on Thursday was caught on camera by tourists, who watched the horrifying incident unfold before their eyes. Eyewitness accounts say Mr Plumb stopped his vehicle full of tourists to watch the big cat when it suddenly attacked. In the chaos that followed, the safari vehicle and another car in the convoy both ran over the leopard with their wheels. In a statement William Mambasa, general manager of Kruger National Park, thanked the tourist from the other vehicle for saving the guide and tourists’ lives. Mr Plumb, who has been working as a guide for four years after moving to South Africa from the United Kingdom, was taken to hospital for immediate surgery. He is said to be in a stable condition. The injured leopard was put down after the incident, which comes just a month after a lion mauled 22-year-old American tourist Katherine Chappell to death in a predator park in South Africa.

Adventure Vlog #2 The Eagle Has Landed In Yoron
Had an awesome dive today! was pursued by a sea snake(again) and saw two eagle rays! I didn't know Japan had eagle rays until they flapped their wings and I saw the spots. Also testing out the duel light set up using sea and sea imaging YSD2, I have to say running two strobes makes a huge difference(when the camera wants to focus).

History of Struisbaai.
The history of South Africa saw approximately 150 shipwrecks that dot its coastline and these are found predominantly around the most southern tip of Africa at L’Agulhas. It’s fierce and treacherous history is similar to its reef which would eventually give birth to its name.
Tools found in the area date back to over a million years ago, having been made in the Early Stone Age. Fish traps and middens in the area leads us to believe that San and Khoekhoen people used to inhabit this region due to the abundant waters.
The exact discovery of Struisbaai and L’Agulhas seems, however, to be a subject of debate. For Struisbaai it is a debate over the exact origins of the name. The name supposedly has three origins, the first of which is accredited to the straw (“strooi” in Afrikaans) roofs of the fishermen cottages. Another possibility is the ostriches (“struisvogel” in Dutch) that used to roam here, while others believe the name was derived from an old Dutch word meaning “huge” due to the long stretches of beach. For L’Agulhas however, it was the establishment of the town that draws heavy debates. It is believed that L’Agulhas was discovered in the early 1400’s by the Portuguese and finally on 16 May 1488 Bartholomew Dias named the most southern point of Africa after St Agulhas. The southernmost tip was christened Cabo dos Agulhas (Cape of Needles) by the Portuguese, but French influence later turned it to L’Agulhas. As time went by, this version of the name was forgotten, but during the restoration of the Lighthouse the old name was once again reinstated and accepted by the National Names Commission.
History of Hermanus, Western Cape South Africa.
Hermanus (originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, but shortened in 1902 as the name was too long for the postal service [2]), is a town on the southern coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is famous for southern right whale watching during the southern winter and spring and is a popular retirement location. The whales can be seen from the cliffs in the town centre as early as June and usually depart in early-December. They were once hunted in the nearby town of Betty's Bay, but are now protected to ensure the survival of the species. The Old Harbour Museum in Hermanus contains several exhibitions that explain the whaling industry, and the De Wetshuis Photo Museum houses an exhibition of photos by T. D. Ravenscroft that depicts the history of Hermanus. The Whale Museum houses a skeleton of a whale and shows an audio-visual presentation of whales and dolphins twice daily.
