Пройшло вже 30 років від того часу як Воплі Відоплясова (також Vopli Vidopliassova, VV та ВВ) вперше з’явилися на сцені, але коли ми бачимо їх наживо, здається, що зараз кінець вісімдесятих, от от стане легше жити і груди наповнюються прагненням свободи і нових досягнень.
Кумир покоління – український феномен у рок музиці і людина, яка перша заспівала рок українською мовою за межами України - Олег Скрипка голос і обличчя гурту Воплі Відоплясова, чия назва походить від імені персонажа короткої історії Достоєвського - лакея Відоплясова.
Цієї осені гурт ВВ вирушив у ювілейний тур північною Америкою, щоб виконати свої найкращі та найулюбленіші пісні. Концерт відкрили кавер версією на пісню– Віктора Цоя із групи Кіно - Пачка Цигарок, а під кінець пообіцяли прем’єру нової пісні “Irma” написану англійською мовою.
Цього чекали тисячі прихильників ВВ за океаном. В минулому вони вже приїжджали у США, але цього разу привезли із собою нові аранжеровки у етно стилі, вірші і фонтан емоцій.
Vopli Vidopliassova (also VV) is a popular Ukrainian rock band. It was created in 1986 in Kyiv, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union USSR (present-day Ukraine). The leader of the band is singer Oleg Skrypka. Vopli Vidopliasova are the founders of Ukrainian rock-n-roll style and neo-ethnic rock. They first sang Ukrainian rock outside Ukraine. Their influences include folk, patriotic songs, punk, hard rock, heavy metal and, most recently, electronic music. Their song Den Narodzhennya is featured in both Brother movies by director Aleksei Balabanov. Band member Oleh Skrypka has also produced several solo albums.
In 2009, their record label, Kraina Mriy, released all their albums for free as a Christmas present.
A lot of their early material (1986-1996) is in Drop C tuning.
