Guadalajara Zoo activities for Children Mexico reviews and photos
When the kids tire of visiting Guadalajara’s museums, historical sites and handicraft shops, don’t worry. There are ample activities to choose from that are geared specifically for them. The Museo Trompo Magico (Magic Top Museum) in Zapopan is fun for the whole family. The little ones will enjoy the dress-up play areas where they can don a fire fighter’s costume or a chef’s hat and play their chosen role. Older kids and teens (and their parents!) will enjoy the Garabato display where you can learn to make and edit your own movie, play an instrument in a rock-and-roll band or join a Brazilian drum group. Everyone will enjoy the bubble room where you and a partner can be encased in a bubble tube. The kids won't want to leave With nearly 400 different species, the Guadalajara Zoo has the largest collection of wildlife in Mexico. It also has an impressive collection of rare endangered animals, including the white rhinoceros, Bengal tiger and Komodo dragon. The Zoo is located on a 50-hectare property on the edge of the Huentitan Canyon. The terrain is hilly, but you can hop on the scenic train when the little ones get tired. Don't miss the spectacular views of the canyon from the far end of the Zoo.The Selva Magica amusement park, s next to the Guadalajara Zoo, offers sufficient diversions for a separate day excursion. There are 37 mechanical rides, including a large roller coaster, a haunted house, go-karts, rides for small children, as well as a dolphinarium. If it gets hot you can beat the heat by heading to Tobolandia waterpark in Ajijic. Take a dip in one of the pools, sunbathe in a lounge chair, get your adrenalin rush in one of the water park's 18 water slides, or while the day away floating down the lazy river. Don't forget the sunscreen.

Considering a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico? Want to live in GDL? Here are our favorite things in the city.
►Get Tangerine perks:
After living in Guadalajara, Mexico for over four months, we started getting lots of questions asking something like, What are your favorite things to do there? or What are the top things you recommend? So here's a video of 11ish of our favorite things we've done in and around the city of Guadalajara.
ABOUT US (MADDIE & JORDAN)
In January 2018, we sold everything we owned in the US (except our husky Laska & what fit in our tiny, tangerine Prius C3) to travel the world—starting with Mexico. Since then, we've been making travel videos about our life in Mexico and the new experiences we encounter while traveling the world. If you'd like to join our shenanigans, subscribe to our YouTube channel. You can also poke around our social media to find out what we’re up to each week.

Guadalajara
Guadalajara is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and the seat of the municipality of Guadalajara. The city is located in the central region of Jalisco in the Western-Pacific area of Mexico. With a population of 1,495,189 it is Mexico's fourth most populous municipality. The Guadalajara Metropolitan Area includes seven adjacent municipalities with a reported population of 4,328,584 in 2009, making it the second most populous metropolitan area in Mexico, behind Mexico City. The municipality is the second most densely populated one in Mexico; the first being Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl in State of Mexico.
Guadalajara is the 10th largest city in Latin America in terms of population, urban area and gross domestic product. The city is named after the Spanish city of Guadalajara, the name of which came from the Andalusian Arabic wād(i) l-ḥijāra, meaning river/valley of stones. The city's economy is based on industry, especially information technology, with a large number of international firms having manufacturing facilities in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. Other, more traditional industries, such as shoes, textiles and food processing are also important contributing factors.

Robert The Haunted Doll Rules After Dark at Ft. East Martello Museum Key West
Robert the Doll is over 100 years old and resides in a glass case at Fort East Martello Museum. Since he has come to live at the Fort many strange events have been reported. Blame It on Robert has become a well known excuse for pranks in Key West. None of the museum staff wants to the last to leave the old fort. This is a rather spooky place after sundown, said curator Norman Aberle. A lot of spirits live here, and somehow, I think Robert controls it all.
