A Night at The Roxy
If you're of a certain age then the words 'Greek' and 'cafe' will bring back a host of memories. Remember sliding into the booth for a milkshake, ordering a mixed grill and a milky coffee after going to the pictures? There was a time when most country towns had at least one Greek cafe known for their generous serves and competitive prices. Sadly few of the original cafes remain, but the New South Wales country town of Bingara is proud to announce that its Greek cafe, The Roxy, has been reborn.
Bingara Orange Festival
In 1998 it was decided to hold an annual festival to emphasise the importance of Bingara’s orange trees whilst celebrating Bingara’s cultural heritage. The Bingara Orange Festival provides an entertaining week of festivities for the community, surrounding district and visitors.
The festival features street markets, street parades, pageants, sporting and cultural activities and has grown enormously in stature since its inception. Now considered one of the major events on the Bingara community calendar, the event attracts crowds in excess of 1500.

Aboriginal massacre in Australia (Bingara)
Aboriginal massacre at Bingara (Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay country)
The ugly truth of white settlement & usurping of aboriginal lands in what is now known as Australia.
This vid is an excerpt from the film Island Of Lies (1991)about Eliza Fraser (Fraser Island).
All Copyright belongs to Ronin Films & Gillian Coote (Director). A great documentary & must see for all Australians & internationals.
I originally uploaded these excerpts for the traditional owners from the lands the massacres occurred but now also for broader educational purposes due to the important & profoundly truthful content.
