Model at the Pump House Museum, Thames, New Zealand
This is a wonderful working model of the massive Queen of Beauty Pump, which was used to pump water out of the water table below Thames (New Zealand) to allow mines to be sunk down to 1000 feet below the surface. Parts of the massive steam-driven pump is still on site in the historic Bella Street Pump House Museum in Thames where this model is one of the many wonderful items on display. Filmed during my visit 29 June 2013.

Thames Coromandel New Zealand
The Drive from Auckland to the Coromandel. Thames is in a valley with the sea on one side and the back drop of heavily forested hills on the other, it has an industrial side and a residential one which is split by the main road through, you get the impression though that people enjoy living in this place and it is the gateway to the stunning Coromandel so you can kind of see why they do!
