In the Polish highlands, a sensitive peasant girl has given her heart and body to a rich landowner. But now he plans to marry someone else.
Moniuszko’s romantic tragedy of mésalliance and social tension is regarded as one of the finest operas in the Polish repertoire. Poznań Opera performs their production on the giant stage of the Grand Theatre in Warsaw as guests of Polish National Opera.

A detailed exploration of the city of Poznań, Greater Poland, Poland - 8 May, 2019.

Exploring a Polish mall in Poznań, buying train tickets @Poznań Główny. Vlog 12 (4K)
I head out to explore a normal neighborhood in Poland and find a Polish mall. Galeria Pestka in Poznzan, so I walk around and talk to some locals. Then I head to Lake Malta to look around, after I visit the Poznań Główny railway station to buy a train ticket. Then later back the downtown and I talk with some Polish students.

The sound performance of Gerard Lebik's Narrative Being: turning a political scene is not just an entry into the discourse (bio) of power and asking a question about what (and above all - whose cost) we set in the field of view. The choice of such a space of artistic activity is combined with the curatorial assumption of exploring the edges of the theater: and in the formal (performance art, sound art, improvisation) and organizational layer (curatorial of the performing arts as an alternative to the dominance of the repertoire theater).
Due to fire restrictions, the performance will take place in two rounds: at 19 and 19:20.

Poznan, Poland, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Greater Poland Uprising and the banner award ceremony for the Air Operations Mobile Command Element, based in Babkach, Poland, at the Wolnosci Square in Poznan, Poland, January 5.
The Greater Poland Uprising was the biggest and the only victorious military insurrection of Poles against German rule during the Partitions period. The uprising broke out on December 27, 1918 in Poznan, Poland, after a patriotic speech by Lgnacy Paderewski, the famous pianist, who would later become the Polish prime minister in 1919.
The celebration of the uprising’s centennial was held in multiple locations throughout Poznan with reenactments of the historical event in each location.
In addition to, the Air Operations Mobile Command Element is awarded their banner colors since their inception. The unit has been in operation since January 1, 2011 without colors until the awarding ceremony the day of the city-wide celebration.

20 rocznica radykalnych przemian jakie przeszła Europa Środkowa, stała się okazją do refleksji na temat całego procesu transformacji, który doprowadził do tego spektakularnego wydarzenia, jakim był upadek Muru Berlińskiego. Perspektywa polska i niemiecka, dotycząca genezy i skutków tych zdarzeń, z racji innych doświadczeń historycznych, zależności i odniesień kulturowych a także całkiem subiektywnych ludzkich ocen, pozostając niezmiennie w kręgu zainteresowań polityków i historyków, stała się także niezwykłym źródłem, inspirującym dialog polsko niemieckich twórców spektaklu „Alexanderplatz.
Prapremiera spektaklu zaplanowana jest na 11 listopada 2009, 18 grudnia 2009 „Alexanderplatz zobaczą po raz pierwszy widzowie niemieccy.
Wydarzeniom 1989 roku poświęcono dotąd wiele uwagi, zarówno w przestrzeni oficjalnej politycznej i dyplomatycznej jak i artystycznej, na podkreślenie zasługuje jednakże fakt, iż „Alexanderplatz to jedyne dzieło, które dotyka tego tematu z perspektywy uniwersalnego języka tańca.

Lake Malta, known also as the Maltański Reservoir, is an artificial lake in Poznań, Poland. It was formed in 1952 as a result of the damming of the Cybina River. It is about 2.2 km long, which makes the lake the biggest man-made lake of the city. The water is 3.1 m deep on average with a maximum about 5 m. There are a number of recreational attractions along the edge of the lake. The lake also has one of the oldest man-made rowing venues in Europe - The Malta Regatta Course. This dates back to 1952 and has held a number of Rowing World Cup events. It also hosted the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in 1990 and 2001, and did so again in 2010. The lake also gives its name to the Malta theatre festival, held in Poznań annually in June, with some of the shows taking place next to the lake. The name of the lake comes from the Knights Hospitaller also known as Knights of Malta. The lake was built on land owned by Church of St. John of Jerusalem Outside the Walls, given to the order in 1187 by duke Mieszko III the Old. Because of the importance of the lake for the city of Poznań, various methods to improve its water quality have been investigated.

Jacek Przybyłowicz przez 8 lat był solistą Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company w Izraelu. Życie na styku dwu kultur: żydowskiej i arabskiej zaowocowało zainteresowaniem tradycją literacką i muzyczną tego regionu. Naszyjnik gołębicy nawiązuje swoim tytułem do poematu Ibn Hazma, a muzyczne tło spektaklu tworzą m.in. pieśni legendarnej egipskiej śpiewaczki Om Kolthom. Mimo tak wyraźnych sygnałów Naszyjnik gołębicy nie jest odwzorowaniem toposu, korzystając z klasycznych elementów Jacek Przybyłowicz tworzy na wskroś współczesny spektakl, którego bohaterowie są nam bardzo bliscy.
Od premiery spektakl prezentowany był m.in. w następujących krajach: FRANCJA, NIEMCY, RUMUNIA, TUNEZJA, WŁOCHY, USA.

Today, the Poznań Citadel site is a large park, in
which is situated a memorial to the Red Army
For centuries before the Christianization of Poland,
Poznań (consisting of a fortified stronghold between
the Warta and Cybina rivers, on what is now Ostrów
Tumski) was an important cultural and political centre
of the Polan tribe. Mieszko I, the first historically
recorded ruler of the Polans, and of the early Polish
state which they dominated, built one of his main
stable headquarters in Poznań. Mieszko's baptism of
966, seen as a defining moment in the
Christianization of the Polish state, may have taken
place in Poznań. In about 1249, Duke Przemysł I
began constructing what would become the Royal
Castle on a hill on the left bank of the Warta. Then in
1253 Przemysł issued a charter to Thomas of Guben
(Gubin) for the founding of a town under Magdeburg
law, between the castle and the river. Thomas
brought a large number of German settlers to aid in
the building and settlement of the city – this is an
example of the German eastern migration
(Ostsiedlung) characteristic of that period. However,
in 1793, in the Second Partition of Poland, Poznań,
came under the control of the Kingdom of Prussia,
becoming part of (and initially the seat of) the
province of South Prussia. In the Greater Poland
Uprising of 1806, Polish soldiers and civilian
volunteers assisted the efforts of Napoleon by driving
out Prussian forces from the region. The city became
a part of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1807, and was the
seat of Poznań Department – a unit of administrative
division and local government. However, in 1815,
following the Congress of Vienna, the region was
returned to Prussia, and Poznań became the capital of
the semi-autonomous Grand Duchy of Posen. A
Greater Poland Uprising during the Revolutions of
1848 was ultimately unsuccessful, and the Grand
Duchy lost its remaining autonomy, Poznań becoming
simply the capital of the Prussian Province of Posen. It
would become part of the German Empire with the
unification of German states in 1871. Polish patriots
continued to form societies (such as the Central
Economic Society for the Grand Duchy of Poznań),
and a Polish theatre (Teatr Polski, still functioning)
opened in 1875; however the authorities made efforts
to Germanize the region, particularly through the
Prussian Settlement Commission (founded 1886).
Germans accounted for 38% of the city's population
in 1867, though this percentage would later decline
somewhat, particularly after the region returned to
Poland.
During World War II Poznan was incorporated into
the Third Reich in the boundary of the so-called
Wielkopolska Country of Warta . Most of the Poles
were deported from the city to the General
Government , and in return Germans were brought in
as part of the colonization action of Heim ins Reich .
During the German occupation of 1939–1945, Poznań
was incorporated into the Third Reich as the capital of
Reichsgau Wartheland. Many Polish inhabitants were
executed, arrested, expelled to the General
Government or used as forced labour; at the same
time many Germans and Volksdeutsche were settled
in the city. The German population increased from
around 5,000 in 1939 (some 2% of the inhabitants) to
around 95,000 in 1944.[15][16] The pre-war Jewish
population of about 2,000[17] were mostly murdered
in the Holocaust. A concentration camp was set up in
Fort VII, one of the 19th-century perimeter forts. The
camp was later moved to Żabikowo south of Poznań.
The Nazi authorities significantly expanded Poznań's
boundaries to include most of the present-day area of
the city; these boundaries were retained after the
war. Poznań was liberated from german beast by the
Red Army, assisted by Polish volunteers, on 23
February 1945 following the Battle of Poznań, in
which the German army conducted a last-ditch
defence in line with Hitler's designation of the city as
a Festung. The Citadel was the last point to be taken,
and the fighting left much of the city, particularly the
Old Town, in ruins.
