Crown Bench Estates, 23.5 Acres - Winery-VineyardBeamsville, ON - for Sale
News Bulletin: For Sale
In Southwestern Ontario, prices have jumped 30 to 50 per cent a year in some counties, according to a recent report by real estate appraiser Valco of London, Ont. The average annual increase since 2010 is 25 per cent across a region where the long-term average is just 3 to 5 per cent. Cut and paste to see full ad.
This is your opportunity to get in on the ever increasing value of in Ontario. – ‘They ain’t making any more’.
There is a major shift in NAPA Valley from full-fledged wineries to sustainable farms. What this means is that the wineries are removing a portion of their vines and replacing them with sustainable crops, which one can live off. There ultimately will be a food shortage in the future and this will be something you will not have to worry about. The advantage of this property is that one could conceivably close the retail outlet and build a couple of beautiful estates on the existing footprints, which is permitted, thereby paying ‘farm taxes’ which are minimal compared to a going concern operation. This property in located in the Green Belt and borders on the Bruce trail that runs onward to Tobermory. The view and location on the bench are beyond ones imagination. Wine could still be produced for friends, relatives and for personal consumption. Imagine a beautiful estate, on the bench in Beamsville, ON, protected by the escarpment looking over 23 acres of arable land. All the equipment for grooming and creating your own sustainable garden are included, tractors, grass cutters, etc. This could be a fabulous estate and yet close to the Queen Elizabeth highway for any commuting needs. Would also be a great location for a B&B. Come and take a look. Peter and Livia are retiring and would like this large property to go into loving hands.
From an investment point of view, ‘Farm prices nationally have risen an average of 12 per cent a year since 2008, according to Farm Credit Canada (FCC), a federal Crown Corporation and the largest lender to Canadian farmers. That’s more than twice the average of the five years from 2003 through 2007, and several times faster than the corresponding rise in home prices over the same period.’ See the whole article;
Come and take a look. Drone Coverage of the property on request.

What's the Dirt on Organic Wines?
Pro & Kon: Daniel Lenko, June 19, 2012
Daniel Lenko is a third generation grape grower and first generation winemaker. His father, William, planted the first Chardonnay vines in Canada in 1959 and the first Merlot in 1974. Today, All wines are 100% estate grown, vinified and bottled. Lenko spoke to Konrad Ejbich about growing up on a vineyard, about having to sell off all his 2011 grapes and about giving back to the community through his wine ChardonnGay. Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Riesling is a white grape variety which originated in the Rhine region. Riesling is an aromatic grape variety displaying flowery, almost perfumed, aromas as well as high acidity. It is used to make dry, semi-sweet, sweet, and sparkling white wines. Riesling wines are usually varietally pure and are seldom oaked. As of 2004, Riesling was estimated to be the world's 20th most grown variety at 48,700 hectares (120,000 acres) (with an increasing trend), but in terms of importance for quality wines, it is usually included in the top three white wine varieties together with Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc. Riesling is a variety which is highly terroir-expressive, meaning that the character of Riesling wines is greatly influenced by the wine's place of origin.
In cool climates (such as many German wine regions), Riesling wines tend to exhibit apple and tree fruit notes with noticeable levels of acidity that are sometimes balanced with residual sugar. A late-ripening variety that can develop more citrus and peach notes is grown in warmer climates (such as Alsace and parts of Austria). In Australia, Riesling is often noted for a characteristic lime note that tends to emerge in examples from the Clare and Eden Valley in South Australia. Riesling's naturally high acidity and pronounced fruit flavors give wines made from the grape exceptional aging potential, with well-made examples from favorable vintages often developing smokey, honey notes, and aged German Rieslings, in particular, taking on a petrol character.In 2015, Riesling was the most grown variety in Germany with 23.0% and 23,596 hectares (58,310 acres), and in the French region of Alsace with 21.9% and 3,350 hectares (8,300 acres). In Germany, the variety is particularly widely planted in the Mosel, Rheingau, Nahe and Pfalz wine regions. There are also significant plantings of Riesling in Austria, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Luxembourg, northern Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, China, Ukraine, and the United States (Washington, California, Michigan and New York).
