Torshavn, on Streymoy Island, is the capital city of the Faroe Islands. It's known for its old town, Tinganes, crammed with wooden turf-roofed houses on a small peninsula. The Faroe Islands is a self-governing archipelago, part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It comprises 18 rocky, volcanic islands between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Walk with Me in Tórshavn | The Tiny Capital City of Faroe Islands (Føroyar/Færøerne)
Walk with me in Tórshavn. This captivating tiny capital city of Faroe Islands is named after Thor´s haven and located in the southern part on the east coast of Streymoy island.
I have to take my luggage quickly to my hotel room before we are ready to explore the city. Inside the room we find a great idea. Then we are going to walk nearby harbor thinking what to do and see in Thorshavn.
First, we are going to take the most iconic picture from Vágsbotnur marina and then check out few local souvenirs. Then we are heading to historic part of the city, Tinganes (parliament point). For the first time in the Viking ages Norwegian colonists placed their Ting (parliament) on the location in 825. It makes this place one of the oldest parliamentary meeting places in the world. You can easily feel the old history while strolling between wooden houses with grass roofs on top.
Secondly, we are climbing up to the hill to see Skansin. It is a very small fortress with lovely light house on the top. Last, we have just enough time to visit charming one hundred years old. It is a book shop in the heart of Torshavn. I just had to have these little puffin decorations as a souvenir from this beautiful little place.
