Mystery Man Azim Khan's Tomb In New Delhi | India Video
Mughal Mystery Man Azim Khan's Tomb In New Delhi | India Video
The history books are silent on Azim Khan, but according to stories, he was a general in Akbar's army, who built the tomb after he gave up the military life and became a religious recluse. The 17th century domed structure is in a simplified Mughal style. Apparently, British soldiers used to picnic here to show off their stamina in climbing the steep ascent to this hill.

Quli Khan’s Tomb, Mehrauli, Delhi.
Quli Khan’s Tomb, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, is one of the most stunning tombs in the entire city of Delhi. Its magnificence is matched only by its seclusion. Annexes were added to the tomb by Sir Thomas Metcalfe, the British Agent (negotiator) at the court of the Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah “Zafar” II, from 1835-53 A.D. who bought the tomb and converted it into his monsoon retreat.

Why you must Visit Sunder Nursery/Azim Bagh/Bagh-e-Azeem? | Delhi's Heritage | Invincible Travel
Sunder Nursery - Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem
Sunder Nursery is flanked by the World Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb (Above) on the South and the historic Purana Qila (Below) on the North and aligned to the historic Grand Trunk Road on the West. It was originally established in the early 20th century when the Imperial Delhi complex was being planned and constructed. It was used as a place for propagating trees and other plants to be used in the new capital city, and also for testing species brought from other parts of India and from overseas, to pick those which successfully thrive in Delhi’s harsh climate.
Set up by the British in 1913, Sunder Nursery stands on the legendary 16th century Grand Trunk Road In a first for India, the CPWD, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, is developing the 90 acre Sunder Nursery into a world class urban park with a distinct micro-habitat zone housing Delhi’s ecological diversity amidst restored monuments in a major effort to protect and show-case Delhi’s fast disappearing natural habitats. Upon completion, the Sunder Nursery project will provide an inclusive interactive experience for visitors through interpretation centre, cultural events and ecological and heritage trails.
