Theni is a hillock town situated in Madurai Region of Tamil Nadu. It is known for the large-scale trading of garlic, cotton, cardamom, grapes, mango and chilli. It hosts the second largest weekly market in Tamil Nadu and the fourth largest in South India. Theni district Headquarter's is Located in Theni. Theni district is Located in Madurai Region. Nearest city Madurai Just 76 km from Theni Town. It is well-connected by road to all the important cities in Tamil Nadu. The nearest airport is at Madurai 87 km From THENI - MADURAI Airport Distance.
Meghamalai (Tamil: மேகமலை), popularly called the Highwavy Mountains, is a mountain range situated in the Western Ghats in Theni district, Tamil Nadu near to Kumily, Kerala. It is dotted with cardamom plantations and tea estates. The place is situated at an elevation of 1,500 m above sea level and it is rich in flora and fauna. This area, now mostly planted with tea, includes Cloudlands, Highwavys, Venniar and Manalar estates, the access to which is now largely restricted. It still includes large untouched remnants of evergreen forest.
Suruli falls, is located 56 km (35 mi) from Theni and 10 km (6.2 mi) from Cumbum in the Theni District in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a 2 stage Cascading water fall. The Suruli River supplying the falls originates from the Meghamalai mountain range. The falls drop from a height of 150 feet (46 m) gathers into a pool, flows for a short distance and again plummets an additional 40 feet (12 m).
Thekkady is located about 257 km (160 mi) from Trivandrum, 141 km from Madurai City and Madurai Airport, 145 km from Cochin International Airport and 114 km from Kottayam railway station. Thekkady is located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands. It is home to herds of elephants, sambar, tigers, gaur, lion-tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.
The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants, deer and bison that come down to drink in the lake. The sanctuary can be accessed through a trekking, boating or jeep safari.
Kurangani is a hill station atop the Western Ghats accessed from Bodinayakkanur in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kurangani literally means The place which wears monkeys as its jewels in Tamil. The Kurangani Hills near Bodinayakkanur in Theni district are suitable for trekking and nature walks, including the 12 km walk from Kurangani village to Top Station through the central village. Those who visit Munnar in Kerala can also enter the trekking route by walking down the dense woods and plain grasslands. It takes four to five hours to complete the trek from Kurangani village, the foothills of the Hills, to reach Top station, while two-and-a-half hours is enough for the return trip. Hikes begin 35 km from Munnar and reach Top Station Theni district.
Top Station is a tourist destination in the Kannan Devan hills of Munnar. It is part of Idukki District in Kerala. Top Station is notable as the historic transshipment location for Kannan Devan tea delivered there from Munnar and Madupatty by railway and then down by ropeway to Kottagudi. This area is popular for the rare Neelakurinji flowers. The Kurinjimala Sanctuary is nearby. Top Station is the western entrance to the planned Palani Hills National Park.
Bodimettu is a locality in Theni district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India, near the border with Kerala. It is 10 km from Poopara on the way to Bodinayakkanur by the side of National Highway 85, which runs from Dhanushkkodi to Kochi. Bodimettu is the main cardamom-growing area of Tamil Nadu. It is close to famous tourist destinations such as Munnar, Marayur, Thekkady, Kodaikanal, Anayirangal Dam. Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.

It has estates that grow coconut, mangoes, all spices, and coffee. Most important business is cardamom Trekking in the hills also substantially contributes to the economy of Kurangani. The forest resource of this region was completely burnt in the 2018 fire.
The nearby Munnar Hills and Kolukkumalai Hills are the world's highest tea plantation at an altitude close to 8,000 feet (2,400 m).
The central village has a population of 200 people and 50 houses. Lodging is available in Top Station, Bodinayakanur and Munnar. along with two cottages in the central village.
The films Alagar Samiyin Kuthurai, Myna and Kumki were shot there. The best months to explore the Hills are from August to December. Never ever miss it.
Samabalaru falls is the source of Kottakudi River, which serves the drinking water needs of Bodinayakanur.

Top Station, located around 32 km away from Munnar, is the highest point (1700m) in Munnar, on the Munnar-Kodaikkanal road. The place falls on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Here you can enjoy the panoramic view of Western Ghats and the valley of Theni district of Tamil Nadu.
Top Station got its name from the fact that it was the uppermost railway station located in the Kundala Valley. At this highest point, you may feel that the clouds are just a hand touch away from you. The destination is famous for the Neelakurinji flowers (Strobilanthus), which used to bloom once in twelve years. The bloom of these rare flowers will give the destination a different bluish look. The next flowering season is 2030.
The best time to visit Top station is from April to May. Top Station is easily accessible from Munnar as there are frequent buses from there and you can also make use of the cabs available. You can also visit the Kurinjimala sanctuary very near to top Station.
