Good morning everybody, today we are waiting in front of our hotel in downtown San Jose to get picked up by Pachira to go to Tortuguero. Tortuguero is a beautiful place on the Caribbean coast known for its wildlife and national park. Our transpiration just arrived so let's go and see Tortuguero.
We're at the main dock of Pachira lodge as we're about to go on a boat ride through the national park. We're going to go through the canals and hopefully see a lot of wildlife. It's a beautiful day so let's go.
We're about to take a boat to go to the small town of Tortuguero. We're going to go walk around the beach and see what the town is like. It's very small, it only has about 2000 people.
Another activity that they offer is an easy 1 kilometer walk. It's a great way to also see nature and wildlife.
Today is our last day here in Tortuguero and we're actually about to go take the boat back to La Pavona to head back to San Jose. We had a great time here in Tortuguero and Pachira Lodge. We saw a ton of wildlife and enjoyed a lot of the nature that's around.
Pachira makes it really easy to visit Tortuguero, as they include everything from transportation to food to activities and they have packages from one day to two or three or four or however how long you want to stay.
So if you guys want to learn more information about Tortuguero and Pachira, please click on the links below. I hope you guys enjoyed our video because we absolutely love Tortuguero, it's a magical place in Costa Rica.
Thank you for watching and hope you guys enjoyed the video.

Panama Canal Cruise - Day 7 Limon Costa Rica
We didn’t know exactly what to expect when we found out that our Caribbean Princess cruise was stopping in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. We researched our tours carefully and settled on Your Lucky Tour. Eduardo, the owner, walked us through the process of finding the right experience for our party. We ultimately chose a tour to Cahuita National Park, with stops at the Tortugero Canal, a fruit stand, and a private home where we got to pet a baby sloth. This tour was appealing because it combined some of the common sights in Puerto Limon, with the off the beaten path trip to Cahuita. Cahuita was quintessential Costa Rica- jungle meets beach, wildlife, and warm locals. My Mom loved this day, and the personal service and great price made it super memorable. Don't forget our wonderful sponsor:

Costa Rica - 17 - Tortuguero 4 - Wandeling rondom Lodge - Naar Puerto Limon - FOX Groepsreis / 2009
Travel video about Canal de Tortuguero.
The starting point of our journey is the harbour city of Puerto Limón, the only important city on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, in Central America. It is a vibrant place surrounded by lush tropical landscape that makes the whole of this coastal section somewhat uninhabitable. The town's origins date back to the early colonial period. Indeed, Christopher Columbus and his son set anchor here in 1502. The boat journey through the watery maze of the Tortuguero Canal begins slowly in order to accustom the passengers to the sight of impenetrable jungle. A large Rust Belly Guan hops from branch to branch. Its plumage is soaking wet and drips with every movement. At first, the canal travels through a partly inhabited coastal area with small wooden huts and tiny boats. The Parque Nacional Tortugero measures a hundred and ninety square kilometres and extends into the sea. No one is allowed to settle within the park and the animals seem to know this: a green heron sits among the leaves and spots some playful Capuchin Monkeys. We stay at a safe distance from the bright red Strawberry Poison Dart Frog, a tree-climbing frog that can inject toxic substances into the skin. The indigenous Indians once used its secretions for their arrows. The Laguna Lodge is one of the most comfortable of the region and an oasis amid the wilderness. Its souvenir area is designed like a shell and contains the work of local artists including clothing, masks and wood carvings. The Tortuguero Canal: a natural world whose beauty is like an exotic paradise!

Costa Rica - Sloths Galore! Wildlife & Nature Near Puerto Limon
From the Costa Rican port of Puerto Limon, we visited Cahuita National Park and took a boat ride on the Tortuguero River. This country never ceases to amaze me with it's abundant wildlife. We saw sloths, howler monkeys, lizards, iguanas, birds, a crocodile and more! It was a cooler, rainy day so the sloths were moving and eating.

Welcome to PUERTO VIEJO! Costa Rica's Hidden Gem
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a bit of an undiscovered beach town gem on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
We spent a day showing you around starting out with our great open air AirBNB in the middle of the jungle just outside of the town.
We then heading into town, walking along Black Beach (Playa Negra), flying our drone while we go. On our way into town we discover in old barge in the water, sunken to create a breakwater.
After walking along the water for awhile, we head into town to get some lunch and find a cute cafe/bookstore called Cafe Rico.
Afterwards we head back to the water where we spot a sunken sailing ship just off the shore.

Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a town in southeast Costa Rica, on the Caribbean coast. It’s known for the Salsa Brava surf break and beaches like black-sand Playa Negra. The Jaguar Rescue Center rehabilitates wild cats and other animals. Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge has rainforest, wetlands and mangroves. To the north, Cahuita National Park protects a large coral reef and has a shipwreck dive site.
Puerto Viejo is the largest tourist destination on Costa Rica's small Caribbean coast. Other nearby communities are Cahuita, Cocles, Punta Uva and Manzanillo . The vibe here is laid-back, Caribbean-style with a great diversity of people living here and visiting here.
Playa Negra, the paradise for surfers.
Known for its world-class waves and breaks, Playa Negra is a surfer's paradise. Famous as the filming location for the cult classic, Endless Summer II, this beach sits along the northwestern region of Guanacaste along the northern Pacific coast. But this small beach community has more to offer than just its surfing breaks. From great hotels, resorts and budget lodges to renowned cafes and local delicacies, Playa Negra has a little something to offer every visitor. Enjoy the laid-back Tico lifestyle here while escaping the hustle of other surf-centric communities along the Pacific Coast. Those staying here will also be just a short drive away from Marino Las Baulas National Park, which is a famous nesting ground for the leatherback turtles.

Tortuguero Green sea Turtle cathed by the Jaguar.
While in a dark night she was looking for a save place to nest, trying to preserve their specie as natural behavior, suddenly this Jaguar capture her to get feed, as well it is a natural behavior, it is complex eco sistem but it beautiful to discover it and learn about, as Naturalist I enjoy it every day, it is a shame that many people are missing the chance to come and experience this.
I recommend this place for all ages and specially for families and nature lovers, photography, sightseeing, water sports and adventures.
